That was a case of mistaken identity.. Brisebois thought he was getting Gaudreau not Goodrow... - PatC80
It’s pretty clear Stevie Y isn’t running the show anymore
They are a massive cup threat regardless but it’s fun to see them make bad deadline moves. |

Tbh the way the leafs play tonight will likely define them as a playoff team or not.
Bounce back and put up some fight or come out like frightened children.... I’m hoping they show some balls - Dozzer
Hard to say one way or another. Two of the last three games were probably their worst efforts of the season, sandwiched around one of their best. A team with a good measure of talent but surely lacking character and a strong work ethic.

Coleman was an overpay for two 1st round picks but given the contract he has I could roll with it. Overpay once for this core to get them a cheap contract. Sure.
But the Goodrow trade just sucked. There was no need for that. - Santo_44
they got moar truculence now.

How did we only get a 5th round pick for eating $1 million in the 3-way trade?
Could we have not demanded more? |

Why didn’t another team with cap space buy a 5th round pick? |

Yeah, that's what it worked out to.
A 5th for $200k worth of cap isn't much to complain about.
It's simply insurance in case MAF falters, but Fleury is still the man for them. If all goes well, Lehner might be just the most imposing door man in the playoffs. If things falter or MAF gets hurt, then Vegas has great insurance. |

The three-way Robin Lehner deal includes complex salary retention: TOR retains 44% of the 50% retained by CHI, which amounts to a $1.1M cap charge and roughly $190,000 in salary owed.
Toronto adds a fifth-round pick for its troubles. #SNTrade |

So, actual cash was $190K for a 5th rd pick?
I guess they had to add Martins Dzierkals to the deal to make it 'legit' |

I heard that too, that Calgary offered a 3rd for Barrie and then traded a 3rd to Chicago instead. |

And yeah, I think a player has to be included nowadays no? Can’t just buy players right? |
