Trouba hit is borderline it's so hard to tell right there live i thought clean hit, replay was head but how does he play the man there in that situation. What pissed me off was the instigator call
- Upstate_isles

I don't like the 10 minute misconduct added onto the instigator, I hate the rule, just give extra 2 minutes

Yeah, thats the thing with the Trouba hit, what is he supposed to do? Grab him(penalty) try to change the angle( takes out a leg(penalty) let him go by for a breakaway? It sucks for MDC but its a clean hit and he had his head down. Trouba even gets lower before the hit.

The instigator is what it is, we all get hit with that.

100% here. Primary contact was the head but it's a borderline call. Both Pageau and Trouba dropped ther gloves simultaneously. The problem is that rule is totally subjective to the official. In most cases, they don't call it unless the 'victim' never intended to fight. That and the disallowed goal were definitely bad calls.

Instigator has been dumb since they put it in. Just do the extra 2 and be done with it.

They are trying to remove fighting without actually removing it from the game by making it not worth the time you miss with that stupid rule. Anytime a guy gets killed clean or dirty like that theres a response and a fight. Johnston litterally dragged a caps player out of a pile after cross checking pulock from behind into the net and that wasnt instigating because the caps guy committed a penalty 1st. Its laughable

Yeah, im actually pretty shocked the owners haven't changed it. I mean its not like every team in the league hasn't gotten (frank)ed by that rule.

Next meeting they should get rid of the instigator and the stupid (frank)ing offside replay

“It was my bad pass (that put Dal Colle in a bad spot to be hit),” Pageau said. “The way the guys welcomed me here, if it had been me that got hit I’m sure someone would have stepped up for me. I thought it was a high hit, that’s why I did it. I care about the guys here already. I’m lucky to be a part of a group like this.”

I thought it was a head shot but can understand the non call. I think if MM hits Panarin like that he’s taken out in hand cuffs but that’s the NHL.
The real call that has me scratching my head, was the , non goal, goalie interference call. That was ridiculous.

- Vukota

Yeah looking back I don't have a real problem with it. I think I'd probably be defending him if he were an Islander and did the exact same thing. Pageau did kinda put him on the trolley tracks and MDC definitely got caught with his head down. Sucks he got hurt, hopefully he just got rattled and is back because, christ... I would rather watch my dad blow a hobo than see Andrew Ladd in the lineup.

Pageau looked great, in limited action obviously I'm so pumped he's here.

Who got killed in that one? I thought it was Lindros because of the Flyers but it's obviously not him.

Remember when Hickey destroyed Druin, to me it was a similar hit as the Trouba hit. Granted no buddy pass, but the contact was almost identical.

This idiot paid probably hundreds of dollars to sit on the glass at a playoff game just to miss the hit
