Hopefully this offseason it's addressed. Isles need to be able to call on players from Bridge and the players need to be able to help. Not superstars but not with a bunch of holes in their game either.

I added to my original post after you answered.

JT, Franz and KO left with zero assets coming back our way. That certainly hurts your system as far as prospects and picks.

If Wahlstrom was the kind of kid that was ready to step in almost right out of the gate, he'd have been taken long before the 11th pick.

12th pick seems high to me. I just always had a problem waiting on these players.

Darn NFL and NBA do not have these issues.

No question. I was onboard trading Frans a year before he went FA. Garth did a lousy job letting players walk for nothing. Seeing how things worked out with KO and Frans, they both should have been moved the year before.

Pageau said commitment #Isles made to get him was enough to pass up July 1. Excited to be here; going house hunting soon.

So maybe they overpaid but when you hear this kind of reaction from a player it makes it completely worth it. parise wanted to come here and greene moved his ntc too. This team is starting to gain credibility and respectability and I love it

Very positive developments. Wonder if Lou and Greene have any interest in getting a deal done?

For sure but you have to remember who was running the team and drafting for the last decade. That will give you an understanding of why BP is in the shape it’s in.
The Islanders team has been nurtured back to health by L, M and Lou and I guess in time they will address BP as well.

The same guy who drafted Dal Colle and Bellows also drafted Pelech, Pulock, Toews, Mayfield, Barzal, Beau, Lee, Nelson, Cizikas, etc. For all his many faults, I don't think Snow was an absolute disaster at the draft. Oddly, the biggest misses were probably the top-five picks they made, which, yeah, drags down the overall record.

Development, though, always seems to be an issue...especially development of goal scoring forwards. Nino, Dal Colle, and Bellows were all supposed to be hard-shooting top-line (or maybe top-six in the case of Bellows) answers for the Isles, and it hasn't really been a straight line of development for any of them. I don't know if it's the players or how they've been handled, but it's harder to say while the same crew is still in charge in BPort.

“A lot of excitement in our dressing room this morning. It was the same way when we got Greener last week… It was a really good day for our hockey team yesterday." - Brassard #Isles

Yeah, but Custance gave the Isles a C-, so they should just fold the team and give up.

I love when fans of other teams say this. If he continued at the pace he was scoring at he would’ve got 6 million per easy. Someone would’ve paid more for him. Ignore these idiots.

Clarification on Cal Clutterbuck and any misinterpretation from my earlier tweets. His lingering issue is that his hand is numb. "That's my limitation. Mentally I'm OK."
To be clear, he is not in a depressed state and my apologies again on the misrepresentation.

Well, that is quite the turnabout from the earlier tweets

Agreed he did miss on the top picks which usually are your high end talents and difference makers. He did make some good picks as well. I mean every squirrel gets a nut once in a while.
As I said also losing FAs JT, KO and Franz for absolutely nothing hurts as well. Probably could have gathered some nice picks and prospects for those 3.
Well Snowjob is coaching PeeWees at Northwell so we don’t have to worry about him or his cronies anymore. Thanks God!

I didn't take it that way as much as I did that maybe he was a little scared to get in the gritty areas because he was a little jumpy about getting cut again.

For sure, I wish we had the successful day The Leafs and Kyle Dufus had yesterday.

If Isles made no moves it's a problem they make a move and it's the worst. Lots of Tanner's running around.

Garth thought he had a Cup team and did not want to trade those players.

I always get a kick out of the difference the press covering a player gets when he is an Islander compared to other teams. If JGP signed with Rangers or Boston you would hear about it being a Great contract for a young 2 way center that is just coming into his prime. .... he is going to Fourish in Trotz system ..etc.

instead it was a reach and we overpaid for him..

Guy is on pace to score 30+ gials this year. He is 27 years old which just happens to be the age when tons of guys click (Okposo, Nelson, Bailey, etc.). His numbers suffered last year b/c he was battling with injuries. He is going to be great for us.
