The Buzztron loves Tampa Bay - has them going 20 wins, no regulation losses and no OT/SO losses the rest of the way. Of course they will lose some, but in a simulated world, they could legit go 20-0-0. That is a rock solid hockey team and they are rolling.

I'm guessing in this simulation Vasilevskiy plays every game, given McElhinney's sparkling 8-6-0-2 record.

My projection: Boston is a rock solid team that won't only go 19-0-0 the rest of this season, they'll also go 16-0 in the playoffs, and 82-0-0-0 next year. They're rock solid! They're on a roll! THEY'RE GOLD, JERRY! SOLID GOLD!!

But Pitt gets 64 year old Patrick Marleau and it's a win?

Islanders would've been getting a player that's still pretty good and getting rid of Andrew Ladd's rotting corpse, all at a net increase of a whopping $2M and that's assuming that MIN wouldn't have retained any money on the Parise deal. That contract stinks for sure, but they would have been able to roll a third line of Parise-Pageau-Bailey which is pretty damn solid for a third line.

Not entirely sure what else they would've had to send with Ladd, but assuming it's relatively minor...that deal would have been good for the Isles.

Pitts made some nice moves, but acquiring Patrick Marleau is not doing them any favours.
Tampa, always agressive at the deadline, and yes they have an elite team, but spending a 1st for a 4th liner is also not very smart. Tampa is one dman injury away from giving Luke Schenn meaningful minutes. 😳
