Ristolainen and a piece - sbroads24
I think the problem is the panthers have to cut 10 million in salary next year. That was a twitter rumor from an actual nhl media member. Adding Risto would not help that cause |

oh for sure, hes dominated the WHL. Only 1 player in the entire league with a better EV primary points/60
I think he'll be NHL ready, and put in a much better position to succeed than Mittelstadt ever was - Michael Ghofrani
Michael, who is leading? Draft elligible? |

I don't have sources but I tend to agree. Botts thinks he is in a race, he's not trading Risto.
Honestly, at this point I wouldn't either. There was a difference in what advanced stats say his value was and what his perceived value was league wide. I think a smart GM would have made that deal. These days, it sounds like Risto has very low value even though ironically this is his best season in some regards. The deal doesn't make sense anymore. |

I think it might take Cozens a year or more to really be leaned on for solid top 6 production even though he is lighting it up in Juniors. I don't want them to pull a Mitts.
Mitts? I have no idea about him but still have some hope. |

Maybe Mitts is just bad? There are plenty of busts for this organization that weren't rushed. Nylander was in Rochester forever. Bailey and Mancari and Baptiste. So many guys who have languished down there and never made it.
The sad truth is everyone drafts busts. Even the best teams. It's probably healthier to just accept a guy is a bust and not let that fact cloud your decisions on your next prospect. |

I agree. When Roy and Pominville were sent to Rochester early in their career, from what I remember, they showed they were men among boys and I was hoping to see that with Mitts and we haven't. I would give him more time but if they don't see what they they want use him as trade bait. |

We definitely have better prospects to offer than what they ended up accepting
Very curious move by Florida imo |

So,
Pilut
Mitts
Tage
2nd
If saving cash was a big factor, that package would have done it...plus the promiss of futures.
Maybe adding Miller ( yes there's is Cap hit there) could have moved the needle.
Meh, who'll ever know.

Friedman said Buffalo laid some groundwork on deadline day and won’t be surprised to see them make some moves in the offseason. This via the Tim and Sid show on Sportsnet. - Pegullaville
Was that today? Or yesterday?
