Are ppl upset if the LOG line is back with Lazar as
13th forward
2nd line: Skins-(legit 2C)-Kahun
3rd line: MoJo-Cozens-Simmonds
I’m actually pretty ok with that - jdfitz77
After this past OS I'm done writing in prospects to any position. Lazar, Girgensons.. whatever. |

Those two still have plenty of game left, and have operated well without Okposo.
What's funny is, as long as two of them, any two, are together, they succeed. If they're broken away, they largely underwhelm.
They're the strongest together, and it's a very good line for Buffalo. So in saying that, you have to wonder if Kyle declines (within his current role) how much it has an effect on the other two. Kyle largely creates the offense for the other two. - TheSabresTaco
They’ve still played well defensively no matter who the 3rd person with them was though
The scoring is just a bonus |

If the Larrys want to come back and if they dont get a better offer. I'd personally rather have Lazar than Gus because of his physicality - jcragcrumple
I don’t think it has to come down to one or the other. I’d like to keep both. Injuries will happen,
and we can rotate those bottom4 guys even |

Curious to see if he goes to Arbitration. Rodriguez was awarded $2m and Lazar's agent could argue that he's the better player. With the Cap going up and having played over a 100 more games than ERod, the award could be $2.5m or more. Likely having to decide on Larry or Girgs before Lazar's hearing could affect the decision on whether to resign the two or not. |

If you're talking 3 year deals on these guys, you're almost assuredly looking at decline. When you're facing cap issues, over-extending and over-paying your 4th line is a big issue.

Why do people want Cozens rushed, how did that work with Mitts ? I don't think Mitts amounts to anything but a 3rd line player but that's my opinion. - SABRES 89
I agree I don't want him rushed, the sad part is that next year Cozens can only go to Juniors or the Sabres. |

We offered, there was no need to include Pilut. I would have offered more but took out Miller. - SABRES 89
I can see why they turned it down |

Kind of. Limited to 4 recalls, he takes 1. A little more bonus overage for every day he's up.

You’re calling for a decline before they even hit 30
Why? |
|

Kruger overheard Skinner tell some teammates in November that soccer was for wussies. He's held a grudge ever since. - buffalofan19
related to this.. Is it just me or have the Sabres been doing way more kick passes and deflections then in the past? |

Aging curves say it's likely. When you're talking about 3 guys, it's extremely likely.

Gilmour was sent down, so they should offset each other. I think you really need to carry 7 D when on a West coast trip. |

225k difference. Not saying it's a big deal, just little things that have a small impact.

Using generalized data to predict what will happen with specific individuals.... meh
Sometimes it’s right, sometimes not
Idk what charts you’re looking at,
but I’m not at all worried about them still being good defensively 2+ years from now
Plenty of guys are still good at 28 & 29 years old |

We're talking about two guys, but that's besides the point.
Just curious though, which of the two highly coveted trade deadline guys Trocheck or Pageau (who are older than Girgs and Larry) should we expect to start their decline sooner. The one having a career year in a contract year or the one who's underperformed for two years in a row? |

Not going to tell you what to care about, but what this roster looks like 2-3 years out is very significant to me.

If they're bringing him here, they want him to compete and actually play. Gilmour was here to be an extra man. That's not what they want Pilut to be. After last nights defensive disaster, he will hopefully push not-Dahlin/Miller to the bench. |

Was obviously including Okposo in that.
I'm not sure what to make of Trocheck. Guy still bouncing back from serious injuries, or guy who will never get back to that form. Probably somewhere in between. I don't watch him enough to have much an opinion.
