Trading for Bonino and Strome immediately makes them much better down the middle. - kingcong39

It would be a good stop gap, or increase the versatility in the forward group. This could give Cozens a shot in the show next year on the wing, while allowing him to take strong side faceoffs if necessary for development.
It could also flex Mitts and Mojo to the wing. |

Think you get that C and better goaltending and a couple youngins to step into the middle 6 next year and this team is better. There closer then we all think. |

Is Skinner pouting cause he's not playing with Eichel, and did you hear anything on Eichel, does he have a wrist injury. - Buff36
Nothing on Eichel but Skinner's practice habits seem to be an issue with Krueger. |

Well that's not good, the way it's been going, seems like this has been going on all year. |

This is unfortunate and needs to change. I like Skinner and Krueger but in this scenario I'd have to side with Krueger. Kid gets 9M a year and needs to be a professional every day. |

If this is how Skinner has practiced for his entire career on the ice, with how hard he normally competes on ice during games, at some point, the coach has to understand how this impacts the team long term. |

Fair enough but Kreuger is implementing a "culture change" and a "mental change" if Skinner is the only one slacking at practice, that's a huge problem. Coach needs everyone to buy in consistently.

They were an issue with Brind'amour too. Part of why he was traded.
Good player, but didn't have to work for the things he got and now doesn't feel like he has to or just doesn't know how. |

Penis envy (German: Penisneid) is a stage theorized by Sigmund Freud regarding female psychosexual development,[1] in which young girls experience anxiety upon realization that they do not have a penis. Freud considered this realization a defining moment in a series of transitions toward a mature female sexuality and gender identity. In Freudian theory, the penis envy stage begins the transition from an attachment to the mother to competition with the mother for the attention, recognition and affection of the father.[2] The parallel reaction of a boy's realization that women do not have a penis is castration anxiety. |

Worse, a no movement clause, but are you really looking to trade him already? This is a simple communication problem that is up to the GM to sit down and resolve with the player and coach to get everyone on the same page. In these situations, you cannot just let the coach 'handle it' while you as the GM are totally hands off.

Not going to quote Iverson, but, when a player goes all out in games, I am less than concerned with practice habits. Some of this is typical old school hockey mentality stuff. |

Every year under Botteril the Sabres have been dead last on XGF.

For sure, but that's just it... he doesn't.
He has flashes where he puts together a solid effort in his own end, but that's all they are. Flashes. |

King, my Buddy called me a few weeks ago and said the Sabres tried to get both, he said Chicago turned down the Sabres offer at that time. I think this is one of those things that will be revisited in the offseason. I don't think Kubilak will be included this time. - Buff36
I’m happy to hear that botts has finally after 1. 1/2 years realized he needed a 2C.
Berglund can count for half of a season before he quit. |

I think of it as the Bills model.
They prefer to have role players that can flex to other positions.
If you have that level of versatility on the Sabres, you can cover up for injuries much easier than we can currently. |

Good post, and it will help to, we will finally start seeing some of these prospects hitting the system next year. That really hurt the organization with how depleted are system was. |
