Rod Brind'amour on Jeff Skinner 2018:
"I've been around Jeff, I know him," Brind'Amour said. "Jeff's one of the smartest players we have. He knows how to play. I think he hasn't been held quite to the standard we need to hold him to. I think if he is, and realizes, 'Man, I've got to do it that way or I won't get out here,' I think you'll see a different Jeff Skinner. That's what I'm hoping, is that he comes back with that attitude."

In research when more than one subject has the same issue, you have a trend. Krueger isn't the first coach to have a problem with Skinner and the fact that his previous employer didn't want him should have been a red flag before JB gave him an 8 year 9 mil contract. - GilPerreault11
People are making too many excuses for Skinner. Let's face it, our rookie GM signed one of the worst NHL contracts that will haunt this organization for many years

He’s was also arguably a top 3 DE of all time.
Bo Jackson never practiced nor worked out. - dadeadhead
I'm just saying, do we know for sure that Josh Allen cant be our Buffalo Bo Jackson 2C?
Speed, grit, size. He's got it all! |

Basically pays for me to go to 25-30 games.
@$30 sometimes you sell 8 at $90 each
Toronto and Christmas games.
The weaker games, you give away to family ect.
8 great seats together is unique.
When the Sabres suck, which is often, it's a tough business. I'm foolish, being a season ticket holder is something you dream about as a kid.
Nostalgia cost $ - Boss34 you have 8 together? what section if interested i would like to trade or buy 4 sometime next season 1 have 2 great seats in 105 but would like to take my daughter wife and grandson all together

Sure, but that package of Risto a 2020 1st and a prospect is not enough for Johnny Hockey (unless that 2020 1st is a lottery win) - Stripes77
Gaudreau only has 2 years left & is having a down season
I’m not saying he’d be cheap,
but i don’t think the package that gets him will blow ppl away either |

Played his best as a center in Minny. But again, all of it is dependent on price. I view him as a center that can play wing in the same that MaJo is a wing who can play center. You are better at a certain position, and IMO Granlund's is center. - SDSabre
That’s not actually true
He played Center when he first got to Minny,
but then was moved to RW when they got Staal (Koivu was their other top6 Center) & that’s when his numbers took a leap up |

He gets paid $9M.......
Also, Olofsson on that line has them producing more. Eichel is shooting more. It’s a win-win.
Skinner has better odds of producing on his own than Olofsson does. Krueger does what he think is best for the team to win games and Skinner decides to pout. Jeff is definitely a victim of crappy circumstance however he made the commitment to us just like we made the commitment to him.
Live with it. - Pegullaville
Eichel is shooting LESS sir, not more
Played 77games last year & had 303 shots
This year he’s on pace for 263 shots over 77games
The difference, shooting%
Last year he was at 9.2% & this year he’s WAY UP at 16.5%
His previous best was 10.2% |

@AmerksHockey
With that assist, Mittelstadt now has Keycap ten points in his last 13 games Exploding head
He's getting to that area where he is almost lighting it up in the AHL, if he keeps it up development may have worked.

Skinner requesting a trade would be the best thing that could ever happen to this franchise at this point in time. He’s had absolutely no impact on our point totals this year. Give Kahun a $1 dollar raise and use the rest of his cap hit on a Center and this team is better in the long run. He can’t drive a line.
The only way this franchise is saved is if Cozens comes in with his hog on fire and kills it on a $900K salary to make up for overpaying Skinner. |

How many teams would want Skinner at that price/term and current production? That would be a tough trade. The Sabres would have to eat some salary. |

For the millionth time,

It’s Buffalo...
We have to do that here unfortunately
It’s the way it is

JB can’t trade Risto with 2 yr/5.4M. How’s he gonna trade Skinner at 7yr/9M?
I know folks like to give him mulligans, but Botts might have made a mistake giving Jeffy that deal. |

No we don’t. You could have let him walk and signed/traded for one of the other 50 wingers that will be available that can’t produce without a Center. |

No one is saying he can't trade Risto, it is that JB doesn't want to trade him, or he isn't getting what he wants, take your pick of rumor. |

So you trade for a guy,
he has an amazing season,
and then u let him walk instead of paying him the extra mil per season
What world do u live in?
That simply was not going to happen |
|
|

Why would Calgary do that?
Unless that prospect is Cozens there is absolutely no reason they would say yes to that - Stripes77
Ok done. Bring in Hertl first and then swing Cozens. Hertl and Gaudreau is where we need to be instead of banking on Cozens. |

They would have gotten the pitch forks out if Botts let Skinner walk. Do I like the way he's played this year, NO, he needs to get his head on right and Botts needs to find someone that can mesh with him be it a true 2C or even a 2RW that can dish. This is on both sides, but Skinner needs to put his big boy pants on and maybe he would be getting more playing time. |

JB doesn’t care about metaphorical pitch forks. Botts signed him to that deal because that’s what he really, really wanted. There was no gun to his head. He was under no pressure. |
