I don't think Kreuger is the right coach. - toddkac
I don't know how you watch that game and focus on coaching.

Who said I did? You are just assuming that. That being said, I don't know how you haven't watch the last 60 games and not see Kreuger is out-coached most nights. |

They are playing with one line, well some nights he has a good checking line he put together, points for Ralph and no goaltending a pretty young D and young and average forwards too. That is not an easy team to win with. |

We’d better hope this 2020 first pick is an amazing one. Because if Jack decides he’s had enough of this organization, the Sabres are the worst team in the league, again. |
|
|
|
Thank God for Hutton or we may have made it to the playoffs and missed all the good draft picks. |

This team is a complete disaster and it's worse in person, I watched a complete team that was lifeless the whole game. From when I watched the warm up at ice level and seen Eichel snap 2 sticks in warm and 2 more in the game, I knew there was an issue tonight.
McCabe is worse in person as is Hutton, Eichel was off all night and during commercial breaks the team was lifeless on the bench, no emotion , no talking , no nothing. They looked like they could care less in the 3rd period, lazy passes, dump ins and break outs. Krueger stood there on the bench and looked confused the whole game.
Risto looked good as did Miller and Dahlin also the new guy. I'm guessing Simmonds voice isn't loud enough in the room.
Eichel not taking face offs still, took a couple but that looked to be it.
This teams needs jumper cables or something because this is not working. |

It was awful from Hutton but that started because Risto flipped the puck to the Knights in the neutral zone for no reason - mattmoulson
I'm so sick of seeing that kind of brain dead hockey sense.
He could have easily just skated the puck out and either made a pass to a waiting forward, dumped the puck in to the Vegas zone, or waited for his team to make a (frank)ing line change. Instead, he basically triggered the Vegas fast break when the Sabres needed a line change.
And yes, Hutton was truly terrible on that play.
So, they both sucked. |

Observations from the game:
- Girgensons was horrible. He handled the puck like a hand grenade, as he could barely handle a pass.
- Johansson needs to play with 2 goal scorers, or at least one, otherwise he may never put a shot on the net. It's brutal watching him pass up obvious shooting opportunities time after time.
- Speaking of finishers, the team just doesn't have enough actual finishers. They do some solid work, but it all too often ends up producing zilch.
- Lehner did his best to allow a tie game as two shots got though him only to trickle wide.
- No idea what the hell Hutton was doing on the 3rd goal. Horrible positioning.
- Speaking of the 3rd goal: I'm done with any player on the team with a low hockey IQ.
- That means, at a minimum: goodbye Ristolainen and McCabe. I'm beyond tired of watching them give up possession over and over again.
- An example was on the 3rd goal, when Ristolainen got the puck, all he had to do was skate it out of the zone as there was nobody around him. Instead he waited a second, and tossed a backhand lob out of the zone directly to a Vegas player. The Sabres could not complete a line change, Vegas immediately attacked, and goal 3 happened.
- McCabe gave up possession multiple times, for zero reason other than just stupid playmaking.
- Officiating: as long as you play aggressively and are attacking, the referees seem to let you do whatever the (frank) you want. It's incredibly frustrating to watch. |

Hutton signing is on Botts
Time to clean house New GM and coach - toddkac
Yes on Botts, but another player who had a decent year before coming here. Think Botts needs a new crystal ball. |

Bring back Lehner so the rest of the team can ride under the bus where they belong. ROR can come back too so at least there can be a party on the bus.

I think the problem is that Botts likes to shop in the discount aisle and is afraid to take a swing.
- Hutton is a career backup
- Johansson is a complimentary 3rd-line player on a good team
- Skinner was a goal scorer with red flags
- Frolik was.... well, Frolik
- Vesey is he who was with the Rags
- Sheary is a guy who put up minor numbers playing with Sid
The other thing to note is that almost all of them are perimeter players. Last night was the perfect example of that - we just kept shooting prayers at the net hoping for a lucky bounce. I swear that I throw up a little bit every time I hear "pucks to the net".

Pretty much all of the above, while adding in he's seemingly afraid of making a true hockey trade while overvaluing his own defensemen, some of which are mediocre. |

I am by no means a fan of 23 but it's criminal that they haven't given him a look at 2c. especially when you consider how bad 90 is in that spot. |
