Good game. Flyers are creating a lot of 'puck luck', especially every time spin-o-rama Hayes is on the ice. Scary hit on G. The stick flying out of his hands had me worried for a minute. He got caught unaware, which luckily almost never happens, but that was a bad penalty call on Gregor. |

I loved seeing the guys go right after Gregor after the hit on Giroux. Pretty sure Myers was one of the guys going right for him. Hope G doesn't have any ill effects from the hit. |

Hayes really has helped with balancing the lines, you can comfortabley put Hayes with TK and let G-Coots-Jake play together, teams have to defend both.
Has Laughton taken another step forward?
time for all the Laughton haters to own up and admit being wrong when they resigned him - wcorvette
Laughton was really good last year also. He's a solid 3rd line forward.

No head contact at all despite what the refs thought they saw. It looked way worse than it was.

I could see Pitlick and Hagg each getting two year extensions this offseason with the expansion draft the following summer. - psuhockey
Yeah hagg has been solid imo this year. Weird that others are having a down year stat wise but he is plugging along. Was surprised at his plus minus. Again I know it’s not everything. But for a sixth guy he does his kid quietly. He has had some solid hits over the last month as well. |

Me, too -- just never felt anything for the player
Just one of those guys who is productive but I just couldn't put my finger on why he was just another guy for me

Bill mentions Hagg's inability to get to rebound that resulted in a goal.
Was this the shot where Hagg was sitting in Hart's lap?
When I 'feel' that the team has 'quick' sticks, my life becomes quieter and more meaningful. (A little exaggeration here.) Once I note this quality shifting toward a higher gear, that's pretty much the End Of Times for opponents. They stop losing pucks, have snappier passes and raise hell with the other teams game.
When I don't see it.....needles and pins.
Yesterday, that switch was thrown a bit late for me. Once the lights went on, the Sharks were deer in Kleig lights. I have no idea how to inspire that reflex enhancement but it RARELY was flipped under the previous coach,
He whose name is not to be mentioned. It could result in cursing, if not a curse. |

Also: I respect Jakub Voracek's talent/ability and production
But if I was a GM, I wouldn't have him on my team. I just don't think much of his hockey sense. Never have |

Can I go to the other end of the spectrum with players I loved? Handzus, Kim Johnsson, and probably my absolute favorite, Simon Gagne. Aside from the usual suspects if that makes sense.
Didn’t care for is probably Carter. I just always thought there was more there.
EDIT: Another guy I absolutely loved was Sami Kapanen. That 2003-2004 Team is one of my favorites. |

As a Ranger fan we are excited about our own win last night, but considering we are 4 points back with 3 games in hand, are you guys ready for this epic 2nd round playoff series?
In all seriousness, the next 3 games with you is going to be fun. It's a shame Shesty got hurt because Shesty vs Hart has the potential to be one of the next great goalie rivalries for the next decade. - 2sticks1puck
I think it is great that both teams seem to be trending up. It will be nice to see the rivalry get back to what it once was. A certain segment of the Flyers fanbase (me included) have seen the Penguins take over as our #1 most hated rival.

Great topic. I'm going with Jeff Carter. Yes, I was initially excited about his skills (esp. his shot), but was never a fan of his all around game. Obviously super talented but often seemed like he didn't really care out there to me. And he just seemed like a spoiled brat from day 1. Difficult personality to like/root for for me.
Surprised to see all the Recchi hate. I always liked him a lot. Don't really remember the reputation as a diver. Not sayin it didn't happen, I just don't remember him that way
Another lower-tier guy that drove me nuts was Peter White. I used to call him White Privilege because the only reason he was in the lineup was cuz he was Clarke's son-in-law. He brought absolutely nothing to the table for the Flyers, but never got benched (Yes, I'm aware that he was a very productive AHL player). |
