Can I go to the other end of the spectrum with players I loved? Handzus, Kim Johnsson, and probably my absolute favorite, Simon Gagne. Aside from the usual suspects if that makes sense.
Didn’t care for is probably Carter. I just always thought there was more there.
EDIT: Another guy I absolutely loved was Sami Kapanen. That 2003-2004 Team is one of my favorites. - Flyers1218
Oh C'mon Carter had that one great move he always used where he skated down along the right boards and then....fired it wide!
He was never consistent going to the dirty areas. With his size, skating, and hands he could have been more of a nightly factor if he had been willing to muck it up a bit more. I think he got better with that after he went to LA. |

Also a Hall of Famer who holds the franchise single-season point record, had b2b 100 point seasons and a 91-point season in his second stint (during NHL dead-puck days), member of the 50-goal club and a well-liked teammate. - bmeltzer
Also called 18-year-old teammate Sidney Crosby a crybaby. |

That's funny. I heard a teammate of Carter had a similar nickname. Jody Shelley was "tomato can" - PLindbergh31

Thanks
Any guesses how long it will be before Farabee is back up with the team?
I think he’s hit the rookie wall a bit and can use some time in the AHL, but I feel they are a better team with him in the line up.
It’s a nice luxury to have depth enough to let the coach and GM try out different line ups to see what works, and still keep up in the playoff picture. - Marc D
Hard to say and you never know if there will be injuries. From a very practical standpoint, I think it is a good idea to play both the new guys now. If they are the depth plan, then even if they end up liking one of the young guys better, you don’t want to have the new guys be brand new in the playoffs and not have played in a while.

Haha. Reminds me of Borat. He would describe himself to women as being thick like can of Pepsi.
Loved Obi Wan Knuble. Although if was short lived, he was the one that had surprisingly amazing chemistry with Forsberg, right? Wasn't it those two & Gagne on a line together? - Big_E_88
Gagne, Forsberg, Knuble had a long stretch as one of the hottest lines in the NHL for that season when Forsberg's ankle was relatively healthy. They were money. |

Oates was underwhelming but he had such a short stay - jmatchett383
Maybe it has just stuck with me bacuase it was probably one of Clarke's worst trades. They rental player payoff just did not show up. |

I was questioning moving Laughton to 2nd line. I was wrong. I believe that Laughton is getting the opportunity to show a little more of his offensive talent. He still needs to be strong defensively on that line, but he will get his scoring chances. I wish he buried that 1st period shot (crossbar and post). He'll get his points with Hayes and TK.
My main concern was what we did with Matt Read years back. Read had a strong offensive year, signed a big contract and couldn't live up to it. He would have been great as a 3rd-4th line wing, making much less. I believe Laughton's development has been much more careful so I am not worried (anymore). |

Name a good player or a half decent player but not perfect who once wore a Flyers uniform that you didn’t care for.

Whether through serendipity or not, he won cups just about everywhere else he went but didn't get the job done in Philly...so he is dead to us.

Just think how California Golden Seals fans feel about Reggie Leach. You have to have sympathy for them. |

I love Chickie and Pete’s and xfinity live like others have suggested....Johns Roast Pork has some wicked cheese steaks and is @ 6 dollar cab ride from stadiums. I make the same trek a couple times a year..hopefully the snow stops so you can get out Thursday....should be ok. - landros 2
If you're adventurous you can take the bus from the Snyder Ave BSL station across to John's. |

Why? Mark is a nice guy; down to earth. Had a great career. Have never heard a single alum say a negative thing about him. Is it because of Bill Barber firing? Recchs had a lot of company on that. |

I knew you had pretty strong feelings about Recchi. Was it because of what happened with Barber?

Not judging, but why the hate on Mason?
For me it is probably Billy Tibbitts.

I had always heard that Keith Primeau had a hand in that. I didnt warm up to Primeau until long after his career was over. Also, the fact that he was traded for Rod Brind'amour didnt help. If Brindy had spent all of his career (and i mean the post StL part) with the Flyers, he probably would be my all time favorite Flyer. |

According to some women I met while waiting for a Knuble autograph at Skate Zone, Carter's nickname was "Beer can," but I'm not sure if it was supposed to be ironic or not. - jmatchett383
Probably meant that he had a strong liking for drinking beer out of a can, or he was a thick mofo. |
