I think Im going with Chris Gratton..
Yes he had that one season where he had 62 points and 159 pims with the Flyers but he just never panned out into what i thought he was going to be given the fact that he was traded the next season. |

In the same vein, neither Amonte or Adam Oates were at all impressive or impactful as Flyers. - Lexington Flyer
I believe it was Amonte set up JR in OT vs the Leafs in 04.. Dagger and the Leafs haven't been to 2nd round since.. |

That's very interesting concerning Carter and his all around game. His all around game was actually very strong. He played on the PK and was used in matchups against top lines a lot due to his solid play away from the puck. It's interesting how myths develop about really good player and how they're underappreciated. Carter was one of those players.
There is no such thing as a player on an NHL roster due to who he is related to. To suggest so is absurd. When teams have a lack of talent, they use veteran stop gap players. White was one of those. He was a high level AHL scorer but he remade his game into becoming a decent role player who played well defensively. That's why he was on the roster, not because he was Clarke's son in law. - MJL
Just looked up White's stats (never thought I'd be typing that), and he had some sick numbers in the AHL, so I see why he was given a longer leash than most. But given the number of years that his two separate stints with the team covered, he doesn't classify as stop-gap in my book. And I was a teenager at the time, so I fully admit that my memories/opinions were heavily based on emotion as opposed to factual evaluations. Besides, I was scoring so many points back then with that White Privilege nick name that I had to keep the narrative going, right or wrong.
I thought Carter was a very good player. Just a hate-the-face type of guy for me I guess. Like someone else posted, it seemed that there was always something more there. And the topic was to name a decent to good player
What would be your answer to the question be? Or is this topic just outright blasphemy for you? |

I'm really an outlier when it comes to that kind of stuff. I'm pondering it. Definitely players I didn't care for or didn't think were that good but never to a point of hating a player. No player really comes to mind. |

Shawn Antonski once complained who’s got my back? I believe he was gone within a month. I sympathized with the plight of cement heads but not when they run their mouths. |

It was Pitkanen. Roenick and Amonte had just hopped over the boards and Amonte went out on the left wing as a pass option forcing Belfour to cheat a little. |

Maybe it has just stuck with me bacuase it was probably one of Clarke's worst trades. They rental player payoff just did not show up. - Lexington Flyer
Good thing Maxine Oullette never amounted to much in the NHL. |

Name a good player or a half decent player but not perfect who once wore a Flyers uniform that you didn’t care for.
Go! - SuperSchennBros
Actually a very thought provoking question...
At first I had trouble naming someone because it was easy to throw out all the Flyers throughout the years I didn't care for whatever reason. I used the defined guideline as a good player who had an impact for the team throughout a reasonable tenure and the answer became absolutely crystal clear for me.
Eric Lindros
I only heard of the "Next One" when he was 14, good old Hockey News paper that I cherished, and started to follow him more every chance I could. He wasn't necessarily the biggest thing since Gretzky, but no question since Mario. I had to collect ALL his Score cards and watched his Oshawa games on VHS. He had it all big, strong, finesse and an amazing shot. I remember following the full drama that happened over the summer and jumping up in excitement when arbitration went the Flyers way. We FINALLY got that big deal in sports...IN Philly!
After watching that first year I just knew disappointment was in the making. He continued to skate around like everyone else was half his size like in juniors, but in juniors he was just able to brush them off like nothing. He was putting points up, but just couldn't stay in the lineup. Some may justify it as bad luck, but he put himself there most of the time. He received a lot of dirty hits, but man did he give out twice as many. I remember keeping track how much better the team played when he was out of the lineup and when he was in. Maybe that's his teammates fault, but they definitely seemed to play better without him a lot. He had so much potential to be so much more, but so did Daigle and everyone has potential. As a Flyer fan I love that he is in the HHOF, but for such prestige based on achievements and performance he does not belong no matter how someone wants to justify the what-ifs and could-of/would-ofs. Also in retrospect on what the Flyers had to give up just to have him as a part-time, drama filled superstar marketing name he could arguably be considered a bust.
That's my choice. Have a great day all. |

He’d be one of my choices also. I didn’t mind him but the prospect of getting two 1sts for him was too good to pass up. |

I actually didn't like Primeau at all at first, but that was basically just because I was (am) a huge Brind 'Amour fan. But Primeau definitely won me over. Eventually... |

Tibbits had a whopping 1 assist in his time with the Flyers. He's not a decent player but yes, probably the most reviled player here. |
