I'm having a hard time on this. Anyone who was remotely decent I didn't have a problem with. If I really had to choose I'd go Brayden Coburn or Matt Carle.
I was indifferent to both but there were those who really thought the world of those 2 and I just couldn't understand it.

Ah ok. I remember they were both on that 2 on 1 before Roenick's snipe. - Hextall271
That whole sequence was amazing. Youtube still has several videos of it. I would post one here, BUT... IIRC, they need to be resized or they'll break the page, and I don't remember how to do all that. so... look it up, if you like.

88 often placed himself above the game and his teams, and that made him hard to root for. On-ice dominance was undeniable. Word is he was mostly a pleasant dude to his teammates. But man... was he convinced that he was a bigger (frank)ing deal than he was. I don't hate him or anything, and he was fun to watch... but given a choice, I wouldn't build a team around him.

The same could be said about ANYONE...would Gretzky have the same stats without Kurri? - Glak18
We’re discussing Flyers. Been watching the Flyers for 50 years. In my humble opinion Eric was one of the best players I seen. He might not have been the next one but he was great in his own right. Most of us loved the way he played and appreciated the high skill level combined with size and strength. We just have to agree to disagree on Eric.

So if you guys didn’t care of Jeff Carter, Mark Recchi, Lupul, Pitkanen, Bryzgalov etc, Why is it so boring that everybody like Kevin Hayes? - SuperSchennBros

Yeah. Kapanen gets destroyed by Tucker. Primeau and the guys literally drag him up onto the bench, Roenick and Amonte go in on the 2 on 1, and JR scores the winner to silence the crowd. The Leafs haven't won a playoff round since, and went more than a decade without making the dance. As well, they were the only team to go the entire span of the 2005 CBA without making the playoffs.
Next time a Leafs fan tells you the Flyers suck (happens to me all the time here), remind them of that interesting tidbit.

I just prefer to remind them they got beat by the Marlies zamboni driver.

LeClair didn't stop scoring when Lindros was watching from the press box... - Glak18
I think I understand where you're coming from here but correct me if I'm wrong. Eric Lindros to this day is still the best player I've even seen play. There isn't a player playing today who can match his dominance. However the overall Lindros Flyers era was an incredible disappointment. It's a shame there was so much BS, injury and other issues that really clouded what could've been an epic career. Many wounds have healed but he'll never be thought in the way that players like Clarke, Parent and top players in the other city sports are.

Matt Carle was another very underrated and underappreciated player here.

Remind them that the Leafs haven't been to the Cup Finals -- let alone won the Cup -- since the 1967 expansion from 6 to 12 teams. Flyers have been to the finals 8 times (won twice,).

Edit. Sorry, quick type and went back to work - SuperSchennBros
Not sure if I'm answering correctly, but rather than importance of liking him I think it's more Hayes makes it difficult to not like him. He's scoring clutch goals, he's been a key contributor to our turned around PK, and lastly, which may be the biggest reason I enjoy him so much, his personality. Ever since we got rid of Hartsy this team has severely lacked a big personality imo. Hextal and Hakstol didn't help with this at all either. I really think Hayes has allowed other guys to be more themselves as well off the ice (TK, Laughton, Raffl). I think he's brought a more relaxed vibe in the locker room and has made our team and make up funner. It was always said with Simmonds and Giroux it was good cop bad cop.... With Hayes now it's like having two bigger brothers; Giroux is the serious one and Hayes is the bridge between captain serious and clownster
