Also, the clowns in Buffalo. I'm ok with a little annoyance, as long as there is a bit of parity. When you listen to Butch Goring every opposing goal is "lucky" and everything is a missed call. I wish more broadcasters didn't feel the need to stress their favorite team on every call. Good plays and missed calls CAN happen on both ends of the ice.

I don't think Jeanneret is a homer, but I do find him completely intolerable to listen to. I'd rather jam a bowie knife in both ears than listen to him shriek like a dying badger

speaking of homer broadcasting, LaGreca's awesome radio call is part of this:

Every time I see him I just get the urge to put my open palms on either side of his face and vigorously jiggle it

Spent some time chatting w/ Julien Gauthier today about the transition to NY. He grew up near Montreal & is pumped to play there.

Also sounds like he’s struck up a mentor relationship w/ Chris Kreider. Said his AHL coach used to cut video clips of Kreider for him to study. #NYR

Yeah I get that they are willing to give up the perimeter shots, but there has to be a little bit of a happy medium I think. The zone time in their own zone this season is way to long . Would like to see them either challenge the puck carrrier a little more, or once the other team is in the zone, somehow get more pressure to the point.

This is I can't defend, though I think it's a product of being so young. Eventually, they'll learn when it's the right time to attack in your own zone. But I'm all for the zone scheme. A happy medium would be useless because then there are two ways for an offense to attack (cross ice and the perimeter). It's all about protecting the high scoring areas, imo, which the tight box is perfect for.

Happy medium in that they prevent the cross ice, but dont sit in their own zone for hours on end

I like it! Let's create a 500 slide ppt and send it over to Ruff-man for implementation

I mean we can’t have the perfect team. Last night yea they gave up 45 shots, but they also broke up about 50 cross ice passes in the slot or near the net. Fox was amazing in that area

They’ve improved defensively. A lot of shots against are easy peasy ones too

The only thing that I’m getting annoyed at right now is Kakko. And I realize I may be being to hard on the kid

Mine was the Grabner goal a few years back in the last minute of the game. He and Maloney basically had orgasms in the booth.

I think the Capitals guys are the worst. I don't understand how more people don't complain about them, they're atrocious.
- eichiefs9

Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley for Boston have them beat. Nobody was worse than the Pens guys when Steigerwald did color commentary. Even Mike Lange, the former TV play-by-play guy, would correct him. Then Steigerwald took over the play-by-play duties and Bob Errey became the designated homer.
