Sutter could get traded with only a year left on his contract. Plus they probably have a plan to get rid of LE's contract too. - NuckUp
And they'll need to give up assets to do either of those moves. |

Markstrom, Toffoli, Tanev. - belcherbd
I could see 18 there, maybe. Im not so sure Toffoli re-signs. Tanev and Marky i could see for sure. |

I am not disagreeing but Canucks have had 7 first round drafted players in the last 20 years play 82 games for the club . Hughes will make 8
Out of 22 players selected in the first round for Canucks 8 players have played 82 games for Canucks - VANTEL
So... you’re saying JB is a genius? |

I'll be disappointed if he doesn't, and surprised if Benning doesn't go all out to do it.
Making that trade and not bringing him back looks pretty bad. |

So draft better....no? Put more emphasis on drafting. The only time in the past 21 drafts the Canucks have picked top seven is in the Benning era, no other GM has had that luxury. Gillis picked Horvat 9th but that was from trading Schneider, which we all know, Gillis picked Hodgson 10th and Nonis took Bourdon 10th.
Drafting and draft picks are the lifeblood of every winning franchise, which is probably why the Canucks have never won a Stanley Cup. |

For Sutter? Think there are a few teams that would want a veteran depth C... JB has said he had teams calling on him last offseason |

Canucks have had 2 second round picks in the last 20 years suit up for 82 games . - VANTEL
Half of those years we didn’t have a second round pick to select anyone. The chances of getting a player in the second round is around 44%, so they basically killed any chance of getting a player unless they get an outlier. |

I’d like to see all three. 18 might be a good price for all 3. There will be a few more ELC’s on the team next year. |

I'm sure teams do call him but I doubt any team is going to give an asset to Benning for a 4M 4th liner on a team who needs cap space.
I'll happily eat crow when it happens.

Terrible giveaway by Fantenberg and defensive coverage. It’s pretty hard to react to a deflection three feet from the side of the net. |

Sutter would cost 2 mil next year, 1 the following to buy out. Eat 1.5 mil next year in a deal, and a 2.5 mil vet depth C is much more palatable for a team. |

The first one, not the second one. Hard to judge when they're letting in goals so fast |

He should've had the first one. He gets to the backdoor tip if he isn't over-challenging. |
