Maybe Tom Wilson will just choose to hurt JJ first. Then the speed and skill game will take over. I just don’t even know if Pens speed and skill is that much higher if higher at all than the craps.

Keep dreaming. Tom Wilson is too smart for that. Once again, they will target Letang and other good players and injuries will result.

The Pens aren't more skilled and faster than the competition anymore. That's why I think JR's lack of quality additions and Sully's unchanging system is doomed to failure.

We'll have a better chance next year. This year? Not so much.

I find it irresponsible to have such a soft roster when you know you have to play Washington or Boston or both to get a cup.

I agree. Even TB would kick our butts up and down the ice. Same with NYI. I've never seen so many water bug types on a single roster.

Speaking of soft teams, Toronto might not make the playoffs.

Zucker-Sid-Sheary
Marleau-Geno-Rust
Simon-McCann-Horn
Rod-Blue-Tanev

IMO this would be the best configuration. Maybe even let Zucker and Sheary swap sides.

I didn't get a chance to watch the game. I have to say the comments have been especially amusing.

The Jack Johnson hysteria, Connor Sheary falling down every other shift, Evgeni Malkin no look passes. Dominic Simon going 0-4 in shots, then someone saying they wish he wouldn't shoot. I have to say I haven't laughed this hard in a long time. The only thing missing was the Letang turnovers and 'four goal' (insert favorite goalie here).

Unfortunately we only have two more months of this entertainment.

There was a lot I liked last night.

I liked how we rolled lines all night. If we can keep a high amount of energy from shift to shift, you are going to wear down a lot of teams in a 7 game series.

I liked Marleau out of our 3 new guys. Clearly still has some skating to him and I bet he can contribute. Funny enough, I turned the game on and Sheary was just getting up after falling down. some things never change.

We played well last night and in Washington. 2 games where if we play like that, we will win a lot of games.

Johnson franking sucks. RW acts like he is trying to convince us in every blog about it.

Washington knows this too. Tonite they played a pretty decent sized team in Winnipeg and they had a total of 17 hits. Against Pitt they had that before the first period ended. Could def take its toll after 7 games.

Hahaha

It's kinda funny, when the Caps finally won the cup, they werent really playing a big punishing physical style like some people here are afraid of. Even the series they beat the Pens wasn't near as physical as the 2 series before that the Pens went on to win the Cup.

Honestly though, Pens/Flyers is just so damn entertaining. Could be down for a round one matchup.

Not Pens-related, but you have to love Bobby Ryan’s comeback game. You look at a guy who dropped off the planet the last few years and you just think he’s a terrible hockey player. We forget sometimes these guys are human and have personal problems just like anyone.

Hope that guy kills it and this game wasn’t just momentum.

What an awesome moment. I was super happy for him when I saw that. Great example of life rewarding someone for doing the right thing.
