Yea I see that.

You stated that the rangers “have no secondary scoring to speak of” did you not? I just proved they have more than the BEST TEAM IN HOCKEY.

I can read yes, but you can’t make a valid point

- Slimtj100

Yea you bring up the fact that both teams dont have any secondary scoring. Boston hasnt had any in years. Thats why they were rumored to want CK20. But I also state the Rangers defense is porous as opposed to to Boston playing a much better defensive game. Thats why Boston has us by 18 points.

now that they got rid of Skjei's contract, man, if Lundqvist would retire after the season it would solve absolutely every problem Rangers have

suddenly 14 million in additional cap space we didn't expect to have

- jimbro83

Yup. One, last brilliant save.

I understand the whole sentiment that this team is playing above expectations, but what if it was the/your expectations that were wrong and the team is actually pretty good (probably the case given how the season is going)

The SOG concern is a bit overblown, imo. Sure, less shots would be preferred. As discussed in the last blog, the Rangers give up a lot of perimeter/low quality shots. I'm totally cool with that given how good our goaltending is, but defense needs to keep improving on this.

They're the hottest team in the league right now. If you can't get on board with the youngest team in the league being the hottest team in the league, and all the excitement (positives and negatives) that come with that, this probably isn't the right place for you. All opinions welcome obviously, but be a fan, not a Richard.

Hell yeah, TJ!

All extra gravy. I just wanted to watch some exciting hockey this year, see development from the young guys, and see what Panarin/Zib got. I'm thoroughly happy with how the season is going.

We are catching a huge break by the wheels falling off multiple teams. Man, a month ago it looked like 100 points might not be good enough. 90 points might get a wild card now. Who knows how far that Carolina, NYI, and Columbus fall with their issues?

Calling it now too, we get WC1, we avoid Boston in round 1.

I dunno what to say. For 2 straight years we were one of the worst teams in the league. Yeah, Panarin and goaltending solves alot of issues, but I didn't expect us to magically overnight be a perfect team. I'm just enjoying this ride. I don't think anyone expected guys like Fox and Lindgren to be playing major roles well so early in their career. It's amazing really.
- 2sticks1puck

Here's a list of guys who have taken steps forward:
Panarin (career year)
Zib
Strome
CK20
Buch
Chytil
Fox
Lindgren
ADA
Staal (not a dumpster fire this year)
Fast (Playing incredible support hockey)
Di G & Gaut (getting good minutes at the NHL for the first time)

Keep the momentum moving in the right direction and smile at the fact that the rebuild wasn't that painful.

How about I word it like this. The Rangers dont have ENOUGH secondary scoring. The Bruins arent a good example of secondary scoring because they dont have any either. They play a better defensive game than the Rangers. Thats the difference in the standings.

How about this, STOP being overly critical enjoy the ride see where it takes us?

Of course Im a fan and of course I want a Cup. I probably have more Ranger memorabilia than everyone on this board together but dont say Im not a fan because I point out the flaws in their game. Thats ridiculous. You yourself just pointed out their defensive game needs improvement. So why are you not an bumhole and I am??

Flyers are red hot but we still got 3 games against them. We'd have to play perfect almost the rest of the season, but there are scenarios we could get in the top 3.

biggest flaw we have

then when the team gets trapped in their own zone constantly after losing the faceoff we blame the defensemen
