I'm not trolling when I say I wouldn't give up that much more than Strome to get him. He's definitely a better and more consistent player than Strome has been, but I don't see Monahan as a game breaker where you have to give up one of your top prospects and two roster players for. I'd give Strome, Georgy, and like a mid round pick max. - 2sticks1puck

Maybe I have given to much idk, but he’s the type of player they need

Of course Im a fan and of course I want a Cup. I probably have more Ranger memorabilia than everyone on this board together but dont say Im not a fan because I point out the flaws in their game. Thats ridiculous. You yourself just pointed out their defensive game needs improvement. So why are you not an bumhole and I am?? - Brukie
Just offhand, I'd say antagonistic wording and relentlessly pointing out "flaws" without ever cheering successes.
But what do I know? I'm an bumhole a lot, too!
Seriously though, 45 goals from the bottom 6 is about 8 goals per guy. How is 8 goals each through ~60 games a REALLY bad total when these guys are seeing less than 10 minutes a night a lot of the time? |

You can bytch and moan all you want about it, but you’re out to lunch if you think any aspect of goal scoring is an issue with them right now.
Not many teams in the leauge have more then 45 goals from bottom six players
They’re only flaws right now are face offs. inexperience and defensive soundness? Structure? I guess you’d call it. But they’re improving. - Slimtj100
Not to mention, they've got the second best offensive tandem in Panarin and Zib in terms of P/PG. The only one higher is McDavid and Leon...and they play on the same line!
Goal scoring is NOT an issue. Anyone following this team knows that. |

You don't have to trade for a face-off guy, IMO, TJ.
That is a skill that can be developed through focus and hardwork.
I don't want to see any more trades! Our line up is dynamic and deserves the chance to progress together for a while and see if they can solve their own deficiencies. |

Why are we not letting Chytil become the #2 center next year and going forward??
I mean thats why he was drafted. He is still so young, but has taken enormous strides since getting called back up from the Pack. Seems like everyone has Chytil pegged for the 3rd center spot when his skill level is easily a 2nd line center. |

If you want a faceoff guy though, there are other guys you can get for much cheaper just for late game faceoffs. In reality, our top 3 guys are gonna be Zib, Chytil, and Strome for a long time. Maybe not the best in the league, but if Chytil takes the next step it's going to be really solid. |

i think it's evolved for the better over the past few years - it's not all about corsi and xGF is the new hot metric.
but i neverrrr see faceoffs mentioned. you cant get possession if every single D zone draw you lose and are buried in your own zone for another 2 minutes. then you ice the puck - rinse repeat.
someone other than zib needs to be able to win a draw. sadly, it seems like kreider is the 2nd best faceoff guy lol - NYRangers1124
He's a few years out, but karl henriksson is a guy to keep an eye on for fixing this. From what I recall, he's really good at faceoffs. |

If we are going to take the next step, Chytil is going to be that guy. Monahan had 82 points last year, but he's generally a 60 point guy. I don't want to make it seem like that's something to sneeze at, because that's really good production. I'm just saying if you are going to make a blockbuster trade, you better be getting elite talent back.
I was/still for trading for Willy N. I honestly think that guy in the right situation produces up there with Zib. I do think though you gotta give Chytil a chance to show if he can make the jump. We brought him along (rightfully) slowly. Now it's time to see what he can do. |

Expect to hear more on Columbus forward Josh Anderson this week. Sounds like he’s done for the season with a shoulder injury that may require surgical repair.

Dodged a bullet there. Earlier in the season, I wanted Anderson or LaBanc as a big forward to be obtained. Happy to see we got Gauthier --- like his game so far. |

People act like 3 good centers is a problem
So Chytil can be the two, why can’t we get a better 3rd? l like Strome, but I’m afraid to pay him long term. Monohan i feel more comfy with🤷🏻♂️ |

Interesting stat:
Flyers are 17-0-1 when Hayes scores a goal this year. Gotta keep him off the scoreboard when we play them in upcoming games... |
