We had a weird kid in high school who was overweight and wore shorts year-round. He ended up going to the same college and I'd see him walking all over campus in the middle of upstate NY winter wearing shorts too. Never really figured that one out

I will accept a man wearing flip flops to the beach, I draw the line there. My ex used to always push me towards those in the summer. "Sneakers with shorts looks stupid" wah wah wah.

Who TF drives barefoot? Really? I've tried it a couple times after leaving the beach and it feels so wrong I may as well be naked.

In my teenage years when I was big into the metal look (long hair/leather jacket, etc) I would wear doc martin boots to the beach. I went to the beach a week or 2 after we won the cup in 94 in a Ranger jersey and boots...and shorts of course

I only wear sandals if I'm wearing shorts, but trying to dress up a little. Going for dinner on a patio or something like that.
And I usually have to look for them for about 15 minutes to find them!!

I got ripped to shreds for wearing jeans to the beach once. I didn't have any shorts that fit since I hadn't bought any in forever. That'll teach me.

Mostly to be able to tell the story. One time I played a Sunday morning league game at 10am. Got off the ice, had a beer, then decided to play shinny with my buddies across town at 11:30. So, I put my skate guards on, threw may gloves and clothes in my bag and headed out! Helmet still on!!
It was much easier than you would think.

I know it's not for everyone, but it just feels way more comfortable to me. Those of us who do it swear by it.

Some sandals are really nice. I once had a leather pair that were from dr scholl's and had air cushions. Most comfortable thing ever. I'm not wearing the sandals from Nike that are still kind of plastic that morons spend 100 bucks on.
