It was a close range hard shot going 5-hole. Not an easily directable shot. Stop acting like it was a soft flutter puck he just lazily put on a platter. It was a 2 on 1 and the D played it like complete poop, not to mention the mistakes that occurred to allow that chance in the first place.

Let's ignore the awful one for one sec, because that's cherry picking.

I don't like this second goal. Yes, it's a hard shot, but Andersen is down and directs it to the Panther player. You make it sound like this situation results in a goal 100% of the time. It doesn't. Most of the time the goalie stops the shot or directs it elsewhere. Most of the time in the past, Andersen has the awareness to do that. This year he is not the Andersen we've had in the past.

Willy in the first for just (frank)in standing there. Whoever the defender was on the 2nd. Andersen owns the third.

His rebound control is poop this game. Not like those shots were howitzers.
Pull him. Not his night.

I didn’t see the first goal so I can’t comment on that one.

2nd goal: Bad rebound, but Liljegren didn’t tie up his man.

3rd goal: All Freddy. 100%

- Steven_Seagull

Think I may sign off now and avoid an entire night of the Andersen is 4th in the NHL in sv% tied with Rask over the least 5 years spiel.

Why isn't that player's stick tied up? The D did nothing else on that play, the least he could do is tie up the stick. That's not an easy shot to redirect, sorry. That was a targeted 5-hole shot and off the ice. You can expect him to direct the puck along the ice with a shot to the left or right but dead center 5-hole, off the ice, that's not an easy shot to direct. You can't act like that's a shot that is 100% directed away every time either.

He’s so good at shot suppression, he suppresses his own shots.

People don’t realize that.

They only see the plays that end on a goal.

Meanwhile most of the time on that play it’s deflected into the corner or covered.
