All 3 goals were on Andersen. Not sure how liljegren gets screwed when Marincin and Andersen were so so bad early on.

Mathhews best player tonight.

Then Hyman, then nylander.

Tavares has been on the ice for 62 EV goals against, -3. He's no defensive wizard by any stretch. To say he's never a defensive liability is laughable.

There's plenty of PPG players and not all of them make 11 million a year. I'm not saying Tavares is a bad player. I'm saying if somebody is going to poop on Marner for his play because of his contract, they should be poopting on Tavares too if they're using the same criteria and aren't being bias.

Matthews is a +22.

Yup he’s been easily the most consistent guy all year. Matthews was physical and lead the game tonight.

Matthews was feeling it. He was all like, (frank) the Panthers, just (frank) 'em.

2 terrible rebound controls and a goal from 30’ from almost the goal line.

Don’t forget the swimming which almost lead to the 4th goal when he jammed his stick in the side of the net and looked like a fish out of water. He was awful early on and the leafs sheltered after that.

On the second goal, Liljegren failed to tie up Hoffman’s stick. Bad rebound from Freddy, but he did his job in stopping the first shot. Liljegren failed to do his, hence his ice time.

Yeah I'm a Freddy guy but not his finest moments on those.

Nope.

1st goal, he was screened. Watch the replay and you will see him having to move his head to see the puck. He tracks the puck late and makes the 1st save. The man was WIDE OPEN because Nylander forgot he was suppose to cover somebody in his own zone.

2nd goal, cheap giveaway (Kerfoot?) 2 on 1, Liljegren doesn't tie up the stick. The rebound came off a hard, close range shot that was going 5-hole. Very difficult shot to control the rebound on.

3rd goal, 100% his fault. After that, he shut the door and outdueled Bob. Huge glove save in the last minute to keep the lead that nobody gives him credit for.

Lily was also covering for Marincin with the terrible pinch. He played the player on the 2 on 1 and Andersen coughed up a juicy rebound and then lily has to try and cover the other shooter too?

He didn’t cover the shooter, and failed to tie up the stick of Hoffman. If it’s Marincin’s and Freddy’s fault, why didn’t they sit the rest of the game like Liljegren? Keefe is watching the same game.

Did you watch Marincin tonight?

He chased a puck around the boards in his zone and whiffed on it twice leading to a scoring chance. Then he was called for a lazy penalty by selling it, I have no effing idea how he was the one that kept playing. He wasn’t good at all. Even nylander jumped in front of him on his game winning goal At the blue line.

Not to mention he was the one that pinched on the second goal, how does lily get blamed for that?

Marincin sucked tonight, as usual. Liljegren was worse.

On a 2-on-1, the defender takes either the shot or the pass, or in this case the rebound. Liljegren did neither.

Lilegren made a couple of weak plays. Marincin looks like Herman Munster on skates. CKOUG expresses 1000 opinions (or "facts") a night, surely one or two actual truths will squeak out eventually.

Loved the way the Leafs played defense in the second. Not a single scoring chance. The Zamboni guy could have been in the net. Freddy was ok in the third. Nylander continues a very good year. Keep Kappy, trade CKOUG

Cause loljegren belongs in the ahl.

He has nothing of value to offer the leafs right now. Just mistakes.

2 fat rebounds and weak ass goal. Panthers were tired in the 2nd and 3rd and only managed a few good chances.

Not a performance to write home about.

It is good to see Matthews learning to use his size. Rubs the guy out on the end boards with his rear on his goal... Beauty... here comes 50!

Also, after a great effort last night would anyone be surprised with a no show against the Canucks? Big emotional win followed by a weaker opponent? It’s a trap!!

Nylander is key to the offence.... but he screwed up on not watching the point guy pinch
on that 2nd goal and thats what he has to learn about... then he will be a legit great player...
