lmfaoooooooooo🤣

dubass could’ve traded tyson barely and floater willi for some real heavy playoff performer dmen with some snarl and term but now there (frank)ed🤦‍♂️

oh well there’s always next year 👍

i just take solace in the fact that the boyz have a nicer coach and plenty of walking around money so they can have fun in the changeroom and golf course 🥰

I’m hoping Campbell gets a chance sat. Andersen hasnt been stealing any games.
- bryant

this teams needs to not rely on that.

when freddy is in beast mode, he can steal games.

he can't always be at that level. but the team gets reliant on it.

the forwards need to learn to win games on their own; like they did last night.

The Leafs won last night, so he is probably pretty upset.

Sorry man I don’t judge goalies by how many softies they do or don’t let it.

Good goalies make you tough saves regularly. I haven’t seen enough of that from him.

It’s a sad day when your expectations for your goalie is just to not let a softie and goals that “wasn’t his fault”

- Santo_44

Ok what should the score have been if Bob makes saves

Zero zero right?

I do wonder how much a team like Florida is losing every year. How much longer can they last?

Coach Q has had 0 impact and Bobrovsky is a (frank)ing disaster but our GM gets destroyed for giving Willy 6.9

Barkov will never see the playoffs. Imagine if Matthews had not seen the playoffs yet?

Both goalies have sucked this year.

I have higher expectations of a goalie then “not letting a softie” or “that game wasn’t his fault”

I want Freddy on top of his game and he hasn’t been. There have been 20 NHL starters better than him this season and that’s not good enough from him.

Selling off in a playoff race is a disaster, they might as well fold.

Are you going to repeat the Nylander thing every day?

He’s scored 28 goals, but they’re all weak goals on shots the goalie should have.

Game Ball: 44% of 50% of Robin Lehner’s AAV
@mostlyleafies
Martin Marincin had some rough close-ups on the TSN feed last night, but he played the 2nd-most 5v5 out of the Leafs D (20:01), his most-faced Florida Fs were Barkov and Huberdeau, and he graded out positively in CF% (56.6) and xGF% (94.3) against them.

I agree and the funny thing is there are Leaf fans who believe the Leafs should be doing that yearly.

Imagien if Dubas listened and moved Barrie for "Picks".

It’s ok UGgie junior I won’t question you on the goalies anymore, every goal in the last 2 months that I’ve called a good goal you’ve called soft...so we’ll just leave it at that.

To start with, I'm firmly in the Andersen is a good goalie camp. I'm also firmly in the Andersen is not having a good season by his standards camp. Faulty team defense or not, he has not played at the level he is capable of playing at.

The difficult part of this is - is Campbell good enough to spell Andersen through his rough patch while the entire season is on the line? I had always thought Campbell was going to be something special; I loved him in the WJC when he started as a backup, and started for the US taking them to Gold. I was pissed that Dallas had drafted him, because they'd just gone from Belfour to Turco . . . and now they're getting Campbell. F'n Dallas and the great goalies!

And then he wasn't. I'd hear his name and it was never in association with anything positive. So it's great to see that he's rebuilt his game and found himself. But after years of not being the man, can he be that guy if called upon?

I preface with that because the last few Cup teams have seen the starter falter and been relieved by a competent backup when required. Allen faltered and Binnington saved his and his team's ass last year. Holtby faltered and Grubauer came in and picked up the slack for Washington. Fleury faltered and Murray picked up the slack.

If Campbell can successfully shoulder that load, it might be what the team and Freddy needs.

Trading Trocheck was odd... I still don't get it. Willy was great last night.. Battling in front of the goal and playing a bit more physical than normal.

Kappy fought again, and even Matthews was throwing hits.. It was good to see. That's what we need in the playoffs.

I like Marincin.

Seriously. As a 700K 8th D he can come in and do a job.

He is fantastic in the neutral zone and he reads defensive plays very well. He blows at everything else though

But as an 8th D that won’t see ice when it matters unless half the D is injured I’m fine with it. You are kidding yourself if you are expecting more from and 8th D.

to be fair to that crowd, if Dubas was offered a 1st rd pick and a RHD he would have traded Barrie. The best offer being a 3rd round pick, it was smart of Dubas to keep Barrie

Yeah the year the Caps won the cup Holtby was garbage that season and Grabeur took the crease at the end of the year.

After losing 2 games in a row Holtby came in and played like he can.

Martin Marincin without the puck was pretty effective last night. He was honestly really effective up in the neutral zone and preventing transition - I thought.

There was also the whiff on the slapshot and this other weird play where he just couldn't puck up a puck along the end dasher boards for . . . like 3 tries he swung and missed at a stationary puck - just sitting there. It let Florida come in the zone and establish a forecheck which took the puck away.

If he had . . like a bell he could ring when the puck came near him so that another player knew to come to take it from him, that might be great.

3 regular dmen out

Is it safe to believe in this team again?
