True, but Hart saved their butts in the 3P.

Stop reading the advanced stat sheet and watch the game. Your reply is the equivalent to an old man yelling “GET OFF MY LAWN”. - bird_dog_pa
So in other words you don't have squat. Again!
Some self reflection is in order based on your reply here.

Well, that was an exciting game but a really sloppy game by the Flyers. So many odd man rushes both ways. This is a win from confidence, not sound play. - The_Journeyman

If we used shot attempts as a measure of who is playing better than the flyers under hakstol would have won multiple cups |

In the third the Flyers backed off a bit, Rangers elevated their play.
Hart came up huge and the Flyers keep winning.
I am damn excited for Wed! |

I don’t need to do squat. You attempted to support your argument with advanced stats for two periods. If you don’t hit the net then to bad.
I watched the game I gave the flyers the advantage in play the first two periods.
Imo they sat back in the third and we’re to conservative.
You might want to reflect on yourself and understand that hockey doesn’t revolve around your opinions. |

Lol Jake being asked what’s been the success of the PP recently. “Well we got put back in our old spots” - arichardson22
Wondering how long it was going to take. One of the few legit criticisms of the coaching staff this year. They've mixed in some other rotations but Giroux and Voracek are finally back on the correct sides of the ice.

Shot attempts, scoring chances and high danger scoring chances are not that advanced. They clearly showed which team was better and carried play at 5 on 5.
What did you respond with in rebuttal? Absolutely nothing!
Flyers won the game on the PP and with a shorthanded goal. At 5 on 5 today, the Flyers were not very good. That's a fact, not an opinion.
Have to consider score effects, especially in the 3rd period but that's just the way it is.
Here is the kicker though. Don't really need any stats to know what went on. If anyone doesn't recognize that the Flyers got outplayed at 5 on 5 today, they either have their orange colored glasses on or they have no clue what they're looking at. |

I have to agree with the 3rd period assessment. Sat back way too much.I know when your up you dont want to give odd man rushes. There needs to be a balance.Have to establish a forecheck and have o zone time. Not send 1 man in and absorb 20 minutes of pressure |

Agreed but the only fact that matters now is they won the game, have won six in a row and based on what the Caps do tonight have now setup a showdown for first on Wed. |

Of course, that's all that matters which is why I posted that multiple times. The Flyers have been strong at 5 on 5 so one game hiccup doesn't mean anything and isn't anything to be concerned about. |

I'm more interested in how responsibly they play their next game than on the outcome of it. This game was a slight letdown for me, they need to play responsible, consistently. |

I'm not sure how anyone can call a road win, back to back games, six wins in a row a letdown.
Yes the Flyers sat back too much in the third.
Yes the Rangers elevated their play.
Both of those things are not uncommon when one team is winning by a huge margin. |

Even if you didn’t notice it in the first two periods, it was evident in the third period.
With this said, be careful with what you say around here and how you say it. Our first victory against Boston this season, everyone took my criticism and twisted it. All that mattered was that we won and against one of the top three teams in the league at the time. Didn’t matter how. Didn’t matter where we lacked. Didn’t matter that the Boston Bruins didn’t look remotely like a top three team through two periods...we just won.
There is nothing wrong with pointing out our weaknesses, even during a victory. This is a business of winning championships, not just winning regular season games. |

I agree when you win it's not a let down. What he's saying is that the Flyers did not establish an effective forecheck and their D zone coverage was suspect today. In contrast to the previous game where the Flyers dominated play, that was not the case overall today. However, I will say the mark of a good team is winning with skill plays when you don't have your overall A game which is what happened today.

Get a clue about what a optometrist is and go visit one. I watched the game and in the first period I saw three prime scoring chances the rangers either missed the net or Hart made the save. I can also recall the same for the flyers.
The flyers carried play in the first two periods.
In realty the flyers won the game by scoring a 5 on 5 goal and a shortie.
Of course your going to continue to inflate your ego by telling me how wrong I am supposed to be.
Please tell me I don’t know what I just witnessed is not true.
I know your shtick and idgaf I’ll refute your premise when your wrong all day long. |

Your complete focus here is on insults in a personal vendetta rather than discussing the game. I've given you numerous chances to actually make a case to support your opinion. You haven't done so because you can't. Any further discussion in the manner in which you're taking the conversation is a waste of time. The facts are what they are.
The Rangers missing the net or Hart making a save doesn't change anything.
At 5 on 5 for the game.
Shot attempts were 41-24 in favor of the Rangers.
Scoring chances for were 28-14 in favor of the Rangers.
You can start by refuting my premise once rather than all day long. You've failed to this point. |

The excuses are poor so stop using them. When you post how I need to do something thus insinuating your to not be questioned I’m going to respond in kind.
First of all shot attempts are a poop stat unless the proper context is applied.
If the scoring chance stat is valid the third period was absolutely in the rangers favor as I already stated.
I do t care if the rangers had a two on two rush and the puck carrier was forced to the outside and he passes a unplayable puck to a semi open teammate. That wasn’t really a scoring chance.
Could the guy have had a prime scoring chance if he could actually handle the pass? Sure but they didn’t so no harm no foul.
Your throwing stats out to support your argument for two periods. I watched the game I know what happened.
It wasn’t a perfect game by the flyers but they weren’t outplayed by the rangers in the first two periods. |
|

I won’t form an opinion of the whole game since I missed the first half. I wasn’t impressed with the Flyers penalty kill or 5 on 5 in the second half, and boy did they look winded at the end of the 3rd. Some really good play by Hart, and they won so it couldn’t be all bad.
Moving on, I see you Caps! A chance to fight for the top spot. |
