Get Muzzin’s name back in there and couple that with the way guys like Holl and Dermott have played (if they keep it up) and that D starts to look not too bad - Dozzer
Yup.
I have been critical of Dermott this season but the last 3-4 games he has came up huge.
Come playoff time a pairing of Dermott-Sandin/Ceci could be pretty damn reliable. |

I think I read Ceci is closer then Rielly - bryant
They are all wearing contact jerseys...
Ceci will be ready to play sooner but will take a lot longer getting back into game shape. Ankle sprains will linger for a month or so. |

I liked his game too. He’s been good since muzzin went down. Even a couple games before that |

Would love for him to prove me wrong and finally be able to play some non sheltered mins consistantly. |

The whole team has to commit to playing defence. No more fly bys. Stop and go the other way. |

I have a feeling Sandin will be a Marlie again by the end of March when everyone is healthy. I have no issues if he isn’t mind you..I just think it’s more of a he’s better off playing in the AHL than sitting in the NHL scenario is all. |

Gotta be on the right side of the puck. Gotta work hard and play the right way. Can't be playing pond hockey out there. Gotta dig in and win the puck battles in the corners. |

I think Sandin will improve over the next 15 games.
Like I said before he was very good playing sheltered mins. He is not ready for top 4 mins but there is no other choice right now.
I think him and Ceci battle it out for the final spot.
Dermott/Ceci was a good 3rd pairing though. |

The dumbest thing is when they do this they look pretty decent. They still allow some chances but it's not that bad. They just have to do it.
Will to win. |

strength is the biggest issue i see with sandin.
if he gets stronger, then he has the makings of a star. but i think that's next year or maybe even 2 years from now. i can't see it changing for the playoffs.
he's 19. no need to rush him imo. |

Let’s face it, the way Ceci looks when he gets back is going to play a large part in this. |

Ceci needs to be on the bottom pair and used against the other teams wakes lines in the playoffs. |

Ceci, at his absolute peak, is terrible. Coming off an injury, he's going to be worthless.
Injuries to Rielly and Muzzin hurt but not having Ceci has been addition by subtraction. |

Will he be better than Sandin and Marincin coming off the injury tho?
The top 5 will be Rielly Holl Barrie Muzzin and Dermott.. Its who’s gonna be 6 & 7 right? I guess that’s all my question really is. |

Update to the Atomic Wedgie Keefe's Leafs Extrapolatorator:
Under Keefe, the Leafs have 56 points in 43 games.
160 goals for, 137 goals against.
Extrapolated over 83 games, that's:
107 points (would be tied for 2nd with Boston and Calgary last year).
305 goals for (would be 2nd last year)
261 goals against (last year would be tied with San Jose for 21st)
+44 in goal differential (tied for 3rd last year with Boston).
Not too shabby, considering there have been large stretches without key guys in the lineup.
Quite frankly, I'm amazed our heads are still above water, with 3 of our top 4 defencemen currently in sick bay. |

Considering they already burned the year of ELC off Sandin's contract, they should play him, sink or swim. If he sucks, it's experience. If he succeeds, good for him.
Either way, Ceci should be stapled to the press box unless there is literally nobody else available. |
