Nah Bri, he’s been a great coach. Just hate that he can’t try Kakko up in the top line.
If they were gonna baby him he shoulda played in Hartford, at least a month or two. But what they’ve basically done is completely sapped his confidence and playing him in a god damned bubble it fees like. Let him go a little bit for (frank)s sake, I just don’t get it
I’m honestly surprised I’m in the minority about it. Very little discussion on here about this - Slimtj100
I don't think they're babying him though. David Quinn's job is to win the next hockey game. Not develop Kakko. I know we all want him to develop into that first line winger, and I still think he does, but he's not that this year. And DQs rationale on DiG makes sense to me. It's not about stacking lines its about building chemistry. He feels DiG fits that Kreider mold better than Kakko or anyone else, and I agree. He's obviously not Kreider but he's fast and a good forechecker and can hopefully do some of what Kreider does so Mika and Buch don't need to drastically alter their games while they're playing well. |

My point is tho, if they weren’t going to play him in the top 6 AT ALL he should’ve played in Hartford when they broke camp. Right now they’re “developing” him into a 3rd line role player and it’s infuriating me lol |

I don't disagree with you there. Although I think it would have been anarchy on this board if they did that
Honestly though I don't think they're developing him into a 3rd line player. He was getting PP1 play for some time early on, and is still on PP2. The truth is he hasn't produced enough to warrant playing any higher up. Production aside, I think he's been progressing very well since the All-Star break. I think he puts up 50 points next year after a summer around an NHL team |

I think he is going to compete for first or second line next season. I'm in no rush, but it would be nice to see what he has for a handful of games. |

Even with a healthy Kreider, would have my doubts about a win. Blues are such a deep team. |

After the 2 games vs Philly, theyre just trying to play smart and take whats given to them, which hasnt been much so far. |

Been a solid start altogether. Solid shift putting us on the PP where they really have been a whole nother team from what they used to be. |
