Ive said all year hes overrated. People turn a blind eye because of stats, but anyone can do that playing with Panarin. Id like for the Rangers to dump Strome and maybe pursue Granlund in the offseason. Then put Kakko on that line. - aecliptic
He does defer to Panarin way too often. Always looks for him before anything else. A good example is that pass he forced through the crease on Sunday which missed rather than just shooting. It's not as easy as it looks to float along with Panarin, but we shouldn't mistake Strome for a star |

Such a wasted effort, and once again not getting a loser point will be the reason they don’t make the playoffs - TPC
Kept the SOG under 40 and played the Cup champs pretty well. This team isn't ready to compete for the Cup, but they are getting better. Tonight was a lot better than Sunday. |

I'm not sure I'd call him fools gold. He's still a good player. But without Panarin he doesn't put up this many points. The question is does Panarin put up the points he has with whoever would replace Strome? Everyone talks about the impact of Panarin on Strome but nobody talks about the impact of Strome on Panarin. Panarin has played with guys like Kane and Dubois and this year he is putting up career-high numbers. At some point the credit has to go both ways. That said, Strome has his faults for sure, he's been taking an incredible amount of stupid penalties and he hasn't produced as much lately, but my point still stands |

That was a good game. A lucky bounce on the gwg. Refs absolutely swallowed their whistles early in the 2nd. Couple of blatant no calls against the Blues. Thought for sure it was going to overtime. Blues normally like to blow a last minute 1 goal lead. They are great at that.

I'm obviously not saying that Strome is making Panarin great. I'm just saying that they have chemistry that makes Strome worth more to us than his stand-alone value |

This one stung tonight but I was more impressed with their game tonight then I was in some of the wins they’ve had. Losses like that hurt now but in the long run, can make you a better team
Kakko looks a lot better recently
They deserved the two pts tonight |

Super entertaining game tonite! Awful ending for our Rangers, but a good learning experience for the kids. Letting 2 more points slip away tonite hurts the playoff run, but good teams find a way to win. You can see why the Blues are defending champs, they are a big strong club that plays a team game.
That Garden ice was terrible tonite! All of those bouncing pucks leading to all of those broken sticks! Have to wonder if we had better ice, would that have helped our speed game? |

ugh no morning Jimbo perspective - TPC
I think for all of us we lose sight of what this season was all about since they won 9 out of 10 and entered the playoff picture. I thought they played there best all around game last night against a team that looks very much like a team that’s going to win back to back Stanley cups since Detroit did it. No shame in losing last night just frustrating with how they lost. We are still very much in this thing considering how poorly the teams around us are playing. |

How about this perspective...
This board is like a classroom full of bipolar 7th graders.
Win a game and the Cup is ours, lose a game and Strome sucks, Kakko will never be good, Georgie (frank)ing sucks, Quinn doesn't know what he's doing...
Jesus, guys. The youngest team in the league, coming out of a rebuild just hung with the Champs and lost on a poopty bounce. There is much to be excited and positive about with this team right now.
Remember how there were no expectations for this team and any success they had was just gravy???
...oh, and we should have been on the PP about 18 times more than we were. That also would have changed the outcome. Zero consistency from night to night with these dumb refs. |

This team is already more fun to watch than any of the ones during the Torts era where they stood around blocking shots all night and played offense grinding around the boards with their backs towards the net.
Honestly its more fun than the AV era as well in that we actually score on powerplays and every post game interview doesn't begin with "well we came out flat for 20 minutes" or "we have to get our compete level up."
We all have our designated whipping boys but I think we can all agree it's better than watching Brad Richards skate like he has his entire salary in pennies buried in his skates or Dan Boyle completely forgetting how to hockey on a nightly basis.
Our worst problems are "he's good but maybe not worth the money" or "he's not what he used to be but no matter what he's gone after next season." I'll take that. |
