It was too tedious to set the lineup from the commissioner tab so I transferred the team to my alternate email. Might have to purge the inactive people. - JRR1285
Im still active, but my team is so f-ing bad this year i can't even make it work. |

I just don't see Hank simply retiring --- its too much $$$ to walk away from. He has a family to take care of, would any of us turn down $5.5 mill?
I think he forces a buyout so that he gets paid, THEN he retires. He never plays a game in another uniform. Rangers can then hire him to be team Ambassador if he wants to keep living in NY, or he can become European scout if he wants to return home.
To me, this is the most logical ending and each side gets something positive... - TommyGTrain
I agree with your assessment of the likely outcomes, but to be fair the question should be more like, "would any of us turn down ~$80,000?" Most of have never have or will see $5.5M, which is one year's salary to him. And, kind of a down year at that! |

Forcing a Buyout would not sit well with management or the fans and would poison the well of goodwill.
I think he gets his 1M bonus then retires and takes that ambassador job but with the 4.5M spread out over some years of service. |

beyond all the speculation about Lundqvist after this season
I don't see them starting him again this season, not even the Devil game |

That is gonna be 2 pts they must get. Can't risk a poor performance or a change in style. |

it's just like a never ending problem with no perfect solution
of course another solution will be to trade Georgiev, let Hank backup Igor next year and just let Hank finish this damn thing out - jimbro83
You have Expansion draft year after next as well. Teams already having to structure deals to make sure have enough guys to expose to Seattle. |

Am I the only one not buying the rust excuse? Backup goalies historically go long stretches without playing. They're professionals. It's they're jobs not to be rusty... |

Typically, they are not 38 years old, either.
Hank has historically been a goalie that thrives on a heavy workload. This is uncharted territory for him in his career.
Not saying no fault should be laid at his door, just that the scenario was far from perfect and the result far from unpredictable. |

Might be a little tougher for Hank. He has been a starter for what 13-14 years. Different mindset? I don't know |

Yeah, Hank always needed a heavy workload to stay sharp. He looked slow, out of position and unfocused in the first. |

I don't think Hank would ever purposely try to tank a game, but it could be subconsciously he doesn't really care as much anymore. We all have those days at work when we are just there, wonder where Hank's mindset is now. |

He looked so out of character, I honestly wondered whether the current situation made him try too hard. He was aggressive toward the shooter more like Shesty than what he has ever been in his career. Obviously, a big adjustment in his style. |

I am gonna to keep holding out hope that he'll come to his senses and realize that he should retire after this current season - jimbro83
Yeah he needs to wake up, smell the coffee, and flush 5.5 million down the toilet. The guys living in lala land get with the times |

After the signing bonus, he will be owed 4.5 million, but his career earnings will be starting to near 100 million. I'm not going to try to sell you that 4.5 million is some irrelevant amount, but I'm not sure that it's some make or break amount either. |
