You're right let's name Markstrom captain in that case. - belcherbd
Can we afford to make him captain? Wont that make him more expensive? |

You have a short memory then, there were stretches during most recent run of good play he absolutely did. The Boston game recently he was really good.
He still has yet to be given a legitimate top 6 player to play with and he continues to be given the hardest minutes on the team. Bo's a beast. - belcherbd
"Stretches" aren't the type of consistency and example-setting you hope for from a captain.
Bo is a beast, he plays a lot, and has probably been asked to do too much. However, if you compare him to a guy like JTM, how often does Bo exert himself onto the game? There are long stretches of games where he's invisible outside the dot. It's not always about scoring, but to be the captain, in my opinion, it's gauging where the team's at and the spark they need. Bo seems to be a bystander more games than not. He'll grow into it I'm sure, and learn more with experience, just saying he's not close right now. |

Horvat is probably one of the only NHL captains who’s a second line forward. On top of that he’s not an assertive physical guy who can throw a big hit or fight someone. |

That 2003 team was top heavy with mediocre goaltending, Henrik and Daniel were only 21 and couldn't provide enough secondary scoring to help the top line out. Jovo was killer on defence with 7 goals in 14 games but that couldn't make up the deficit.
Same could be said for 2011 too I guess, Kesler was an excellent second line option but they had no wingers to play with him.
We're always just missing something #50years - LeftCoaster
I feel the same with the flames. Had good winger in Iggy but no one to center him. Now have a good center and LW and no RW to play with. Had great goaltending in Kipper and rest of the team was so so... Now good team, but just average goaltending... flames seem to be always missing something too

I was all for the Bo as captain choice... but he's not looking like captain material on the ice. Off the ice all fine and great with the community and media. But I don't think I've seen him completely alter a game through sheer will and determination like you'd want a captain to. - NewYorkNuck
Just pass it to LE lol, he gets the garbage and petey gets the cream. |

Stretch drive should be fun, it's been a long time since we've had a team.Standings be damned, the big question to me is...Does Lefty have enough left in the tank? |
