Depends what you want to spend. If you want to keep it below $30 then stick to something from Portugal or South America.

If you want to spend a touch more and keep it local, Poplar Grove’s reds are strong and should be available there. Cassini if you can find it is also killer.

I imagine this off season will get pretty interesting if teams are told they have an extra 6 million dollars to spend.

Freidman gave a heads up to this a few months ago. He said back then it was projected around 84 . He also said this year the NHLPA players could vote to increase it close to 4 mil more because of the escrow.

I would still have walk away prices from some of the UFAs and RFAs

This will help teams like TB and TOR. TB had 14 players signed and 5.3 mil cap space . Hedman and Colburn are the only signed Dmen next year.

At $84 million the #Canucks would project to have $20.5M in space with 15 one-way contracts signed.

At $88 million, Vancouver’s cap space would stand at 24.5 million.

That’s a big variation in projection still, but every little bit helps. A lot.

I still say Canucks make other moves in the summer .

I predict one of Sutter or Sven get bought out increasing it from 1.6 to 2.33 mil more.

It doesn't make sense having a 2 mil bench warmer in Benn

Roussel may get traded if Lind is ready.

Canucks will start moving out some of their bad contracts.

For me signing TT is a big one, with BB back on his game the scoring would be scary.

It's the D and coaching we need to worry about

I seriously consider the TT signing more important than Jakes. I have a drop of line for Jake at 2.8 otherwise I trade and try to recoup that first.

Stecher my drop off line is 2.5 x2 max

Tanev 5 mil 3 years max

Markstrom is 6 x 4 max

Gaudette will come in at 1.2 x 2

Agreed, the cap situation isn't all doom and gloom like people are suggesting. It will still be a challenge with EP & QH ripping it up.

without a doubt its more important.

I would make TT and markstrom priorities, and whatever happens with that 2nd tier of players (sign or trade) should come way second. (gaudette/leivo/virtanen/tanev/MacEwen/etc)

It really never was. Just a lot of noise from armchair GMs that think they know more. I don't only mean in here but in the media and on social media.

The cap was always obtainable .

Do we have bad contracts ? Abso fuken lutely. Moving out bad contracts is a whole different topic. I am hoping this year we can get rid of three of them at least.

I wouldn't be offering QH or or EP 11 mil next year . I would be doing a bridge deal around 8 mil

And stay the fuk out of the free agent market! Unless you can sign/trade a good/reasonable younger D by selling them on "How would you like to play with QH?"

Which is why there are cap issues. I knew you would start getting it if we dumbed it down enough for you.
