No team in league history has won a Stanley Cup wearing yellow on their sweaters, it's a symbol of cowardness (not sure if that's a word lol). The Skate logo and colors are a disaster and should be burned in hell. |

Except they have nice jerseys and a few more cups - VANTEL
Realistically, we should have kept the name "Vancouver Millionaires". That way would have had our name on the cup from the get-go. It would also hold value now, because you need to be a millionaire to own anything in Vancouver. |

You just don't get it, I feel like I'm talking to Vantel
Of all the teams in the National Hockey League it is pretty exclusive to our area, if the NHL was a world sport like football (aka soccer) then I'd be inclined to agree with you, however, its not!
Much like the Winged Wheel as the Red Wings crest it represents their history and their past with the automaker industry. The Orca represents our area, not our "people" as you've stated above. - LeftCoaster
That's because you are a dumb ass
The Red Wing on the Detroit jersey represents their name RED WING |

I wonder where the name "Millionaires" came from originally with respect the to Canucks? Heads to Google... |

Oof the Kraken would be among the worst names in the league.
I'm fine with the Canucks, as its been the name all my life, but critically speaking its a fairly meaningless and unidentifiable name particularly for the region. To expect a logo to capture "Canuck" and the region is next to impossible - WhiteLie
Almost like saying your team name is the Canadians, because you’re a Canadian... |

I have no problem with a name change to the millionaires
This way we could change out logo to Sushi |

That's because you are a dumb ass
The Red Wing on the Detroit jersey represents their name RED WING - VANTEL
you're so dumb you must be a hobo? There's a wheel below the wing which represents the Detroit auto industry and the wing pays homage to the Winged Wheelers who Norris used to play for.
"Chicago grain merchant James E. Norris bought the team in 1932. His first act was to change the team's name to the Red Wings. Norris believed the new name would help the team curry favor with Detroit's auto industry, and also wanted to pay homage to a hockey team for whom he had played earlier in the century, the Montreal Hockey Club—nicknamed the Winged Wheelers. He also designed the first logo for the Red Wings, which is more or less the same logo that is used today. |

awesome.
The orca? Why does it represent BC? It's not exclusive to this region. It's just as common the world over.
It wasn't overly revered in our First Nation traditions (salmon, raven, eagle, beaver, clam, sea otter hold much more importance).
We used to hunt them as pests and then capture a few for study/entertainment. They interfered in what many people saw as far more important... commercial and recreational fishing.
Orca conservation and understanding is a very recent phenomenon. 60 years tops. Close to the amount of time the canucks have been in existence.
So the argument about it representing our region is weak sauce. It's a corporate logo thinly disguised as a proud symbol of our people. - bloatedmosquito
That’s a weak argument, because pretty much every other teams name/logo is common all over the world, and a lot have nothing to do with their region. Kings, penguins, rangers, canadiens, maple leafs, flames, devils, wild, predators, lightning... lots of stupid generic names in sports, we’re just one of the many.

I cut some slack to people naming things 100+ years ago, they weren't the smartest group
On a more serious note, I'm fine with Canucks, but if you want to relate the Canadiens and Canucks, one stuck firm with their logo/brand and the other did not. We wouldn't be having this discussion if they didn't have a history of changing their logo every 10 years |

It's unique to our area in terms of NHL teams, yes....but the should switch to the Stick in Rink (modified). They had it right the first time. |

All "gold" colors, ours was yellow - LeftCoaster
Seeing you are spewing out useless facts
The American Heritage Dictionary defines the color metallic gold as "A light olive-brown to dark yellow, or a moderate, strong to vivid yellow." Of course, the visual sensation usually associated with the metal gold is its metallic shine |

Of course it is, it's all over our tourism sites and people pay large sums of money to travel to our region and then take a boat out so they can specifically annoy and bother them. |
