You should have started with that |

I am sort of curious to the general feeling here about Marky Toffoli and Tanev .
What do people think they will get and how many years. |

The flying skate is the best jersey they've ever had, and it should be the alternate, but if they were going to change the primary I don't think I'd want it - NorthNuck
The stick in rink Jersey seems to get the most votes for best
Johnny canuck seems popular as well |

Let Markstrom and Tanev walk, sign TT for two years for 5 million per, if not, they can all FO |

Jesus....did they actually wear those in a game? - LeftCoaster
"According to the most popular version of the story, Keenan (coaching the Blues) walked into the locker room before the first game that the alternates were to be worn and erupted, stating quite loudly that they looked like garbage and would never go on the ice. A hasty switch was made, and the team wore their regular jerseys onto the ice while the alternates were sent elsewhere. Presumably to either the bowels of the arena or to a dumpster." |

I think Marky would accept five years at minimum so I don't think Benning will or should sign him. Tanev can be replaced. Toffoli isn't much better than Jake, four more goals and five more points this year playing with Kopitar, just let Jake play top six. Virtanen is a possession king and his wheels are so much better than TT. |

I think you have to make a decision on Jake or Toffoli . Toffoli is the more consistent player so I would go for him and try to recoup that first round pick with Jake off the Devils.

Realistically, we should have kept the name "Vancouver Millionaires". That way would have had our name on the cup from the get-go. It would also hold value now, because you need to be a millionaire to own anything in Vancouver. - Retinalz
The only name change that would make any sense too |

Not resigning Markstrom would be a complete disaster for the franchise imo |

He's obviously masking a lot of deficiencies in the lineup, good bad or indifferent, but I think signing him longer term would be just as big of a disaster. |

If they incorporated some very thin white trim into these they'd be so so awesome |

But Toffoli gets top line minutes and he barely produces more than JV who plays almost entirely in the bottom six minutes, he played with Kopitar almost exclusively before he came to Vancouver, plus, his legs are dead, the game is about speed and he has none. |

It would be hard to let Marky walk after he finally is reaching his potential and is even in Vezina discussions.
But.
I agree, longer term contract will bite us in the azz.
I don't think it'd be a 'disaster' to let him walk.
I think we have a couple good kids in the pipeline and are plenty of FA options available to provide some stability if it comes to that.
If it was sign Tofoli and a UFA goalie short term (say Matt Murray, Robin Lehner, Aaron Dell) or be forced to sign Markstrom longterm, i'd go with the former. |
