So we hear..
How will the Canes makeout with their 16 games in 26/27 days? (frank)ed up schedule for sure lol - LeafGuy89
C-Bus has the hardest schedule.
The Athletic came out with an article yesterday with opponents expected winning percentage and actual winning percentage, back to backs, home/road games.
C-Bus has 5 home games left and one of the hardest opponent winning percentage in the league. |

Still helpful -- that extra $2.5 mln covers the cost of having more than a shooter tutor as a backup goalie and the $1.2 mln in hot dogs we are still buying Kessel next season, with a little walking around money leftover! - poopstash
If it goes up by $4M, the Leafs can afford Pietrangelo.. The downfall of the cap going up by $4M, means that the Blues can also afford Pietrangelo. |

It amazes me how much a Leaf loss is 10X than any other teams' loss.
Tampa lost 4 in a row last week, including to the Leafs. they also loss Stamkos the rest of the year+1st round and it's not a big deal and they will crush the Leafs in 4.

Yeah, but in almost all of those the team on the second night played the night before as well.

Three times in the remaining schedule they play a tired team while also tired. Four times they get to play tired teams on at least one day's rest. They only have to play a rested team while tired twice. In rest terms their remaining schedule is actually slightly favourable. |

Executives are saying the NHL got a lot of heat for last year. They said to expect it to be within range this year they don't want that to happen again. |

Yep.
It'll be the $84 they projected unless the PA chooses to use their escalator.
Interesting that there are reports that the league is trying to establish firm cap numbers for the next few years ahead of time during the meetings instead of trying to figure it out on the fly every year.

$4M of the estimated increase is largely out of their control.
NHLPA ultimately determines how much of the 5% inflator they will use.
With 14% escrow, i am guessing somewhere between 0-1% is what they will come in at. |

They should have gotten a lot of crap. The cap annoucement came far too late and ended up being less than anyone thought. They need to have that exact cap # set weeks before they did last year. |
