indirectly saying the barrie trade was a mistake? at best, i'm cautiously optimistic with dubas .... and i can't blow him up for this one.
i don't expect gm's to win every trade. need to win more than you lose. need to win your big trades.
didn't work out great. but barrie for $2.75m is still easily worth that caphit this year. and kadri is going to fall off a cliff in a year or 2 with his poor skating. this isn't a trade he loses badly in the long-term.
the kerfoot contract ....wooof! that's the minor long-term problem that he'll have a hard time dumping on anyone. |

Kerfoots contract is our worst for sure. He would look good in a Sens Jersey. |

after a $1m signing bonus this jul 1, only ~$2.7M in actual cash/year for the last 3 years remains.

I don't know bud, Dubas saying that nothing seemed like a good fit, long term, at the deadline and that he likes their depth on defense. Sure sounds like an admission of guilt to me..

I suppose it has to do with where you set the bar when it comes to admitting guilt.
Unless he flat out says something along the lines of “we messed up” I don’t see it as an admission of guilt. I see it as an admission of there’s work to be done but not guilt. But like I said when it comes to something like this it’s fair to say everyone has a different perspective |

Yeah for sure.
In some people's minds, "We have to improve long term" is equal to "Yeah, I totally messed up.." |

Yup and I can see that point of view.
I find a lot of the fights on these boards are due to people just having different definitions for things. Otherwise they essentially agree. |
