I like how you say the "armchair coaches" in here but are defending the other side which would still make you an "armchair coach".

The only thing that shows me when you say that is that you "think" you're smarter than the rest of the people in here.

To which you are not otherwise you might have a professional job and certainly wouldn't be on here.

If that joke went over your head, I'm definitely smarter than you

Who would you have BB or TT?
- VanHockeyGuy

BB based on age but I really like TT. I like Vantel's idea of selling high in Jake to keep TT.

What? Players quit on coaches all the time.

I'll agree with the AHL defense for wpg but their forward group is really deep, especially when healthy. They are also getting insane goaltending.

The poopty players dump and chase, the good players carry and pass it in. It's not systems its personal driven.
Follow Corey Sznajder who tracks zone entries.

There's a funny part about zone entries and things like that. They forget the game is still played. Ben Hutton's a legit top 4 D in the NHL by those standards.

Nukishckin is having a better season than Drasitial according to evolving wild too.

Stats tell you a very minor part of the game and can be manipulated to show what they want.

Hard to tell when you are joking. I usually think your joking but then you defend what you think and I think, "I thought he was joking, clearly he isn't"

I have no idea how what your saying has to do with what I'm talking about.

You do know a shot or a goal is a stat right? When I say he tracks zone entries, he literally (and this is the correct use of the word by the way) watches games and tracks whether a player dumps it in, passes it in or carries it in.

When they track zone entries does that include who retrieves the puck, if it's a dump in? Is there a scoring chance from it? A controlled entry turns into a pass or shot? A zone deniel does that include whether they a teammate gains possession or the other team?

Jake Virtanen could skate down the wing and shot from just inside the blue line 20 times a game and he's going to look F*CKN AMAZING on the zone entry stat line. It doesn't mean he's actually accomplished anything.

It's sort of the same as Alex Biega flinging a puck towards the net 5 times in a shift and having an awesome corsi at the end of the game even though he didn't get on the scoresheet.

Do you see what i'm saying now? Stats are great, they can also really mislead you to what you are thinking.

I understand what you're saying.

You said Green sucks because he forces the team to dump and chase. I disagree and have given you a resource for you to take a look at.

If you want to debate the bias involved in statistics vs eye test, that's a whole different conversation.

The point of tracking say Virtanen's zone entries is unrelated with what someone chooses to compare to afterwards. It is the collection of data regardless of the outcome or percieved value of those results.

Jake does gain the zone lots. Does that create more shots? Scoring chances ? odd man rushes the other way? Those would all be other sets of data that could be referenced to the zone entry to see if there was a correlation.

I'm not doing any of that, I am saying that your opinion that Green forces the team to dump and chase is more a result of who is one the ice at the time rather than systems.

Would be an interesting deal. I like TT especially with the chemistry he seems to have with JTM. Sorry fanboys, Bo's not a leader.

That would be the system they were asked to play then by Green. To which, I don't care who does it, they need to do it less. Which would be instructed by Green to do it less.

Van's not going to draft any BCHL defenders this year. Does that get a little closer to the edge knowing that?

Harman Dayal says Jordie Benn is better on the right than the left. Just another thing Green is getting wrong.

Green's weaknesses have really been exposed over the past few weeks.

Yes Marky is injured I get it but Markstrom masked so many gaps in the team they all show now.

We are a bottom 4 club over the last 2-3 weeks.

Team was 4-4 with Marky in the month of Feb.

Team as a whole has been getting progressively worse as the season has gone on. Need a good jolt. Fire Green.
