Totally agree, Bennett gets no respect! If I was him I’d be asking for a trade. It’s beyond ridiculous!

IMO flames have mismanaged Bennett and janko both

They would do much better somewhere else

Ya i agree with this... i think Bennett needs to play center for like 50 games in a row to really evaulate what we have in him, and have proper wingers with him... i think he might still turn out to be 2C if given proper opportunity. As for Janko, he is big and he is skilled at times but i don't know anymore, maybe he is 3C at best.

So looking at the standings now, it looks like if flames can beat out Vancouver, we should finish 6th... say we ignore the wild card spots for now... edm and vegas look like they will make it in now (damn the loser points )...this leaves flames, nucks and coyotes for the 3rd spot in the pacific... coyotes seems like they are fading (not saying they are done, but seems like they are fading away)... this leave flames and nucks to fight for the 3rd in pacific or 6th in the conference. Yes it is entirely possible that both can make it in but i feel like Nashville and jets will likely get the wild card spots. Any thoughts??

It's not the last weekend of the season and the Oilers just played two of their worst games of the season. Why exactly do you think the Oilers aren't catchable, especially since the Flames play them again.

Yes for sure they can catch the oilers and even vegas but the chance of that is low as those teams are also playing well but yes they can do that. What I am saying is Hunk, let's assume those two teams make it 1 and 2 in pacific... then now it looks good if we can beat nucks we should make it in. Anything is still possible as 12 games left, but I was just thinking and seems like we beat nucks we are in for sure due to skipping the wild card and going into 3rd in pacific, which will put us in 6th in the conference. I really think jets and preds will take the wild card spots.

I do love your positivity... it is very refreshing all the positivity coming from you for a change

Yeah Vegas and the OIl are playing really good hockey. Unless something changes they will be tough to catch.

Calgary is playing mediocre hockey and coming out flat in a huge game does not inspire a lot of confidence.

What? Koskinen is playing really good hockey. The rest of the Oilers have been terrible the past three games. Last night was probably the Oilers worst game of the season. It could easily have been 7-0. If nothing changes they'll be caught by the weekend.

The Oilers also have 5 games left against teams that are clearly better than them. The Flames have 2.

What are you talking about the oilers have been getting absolutely shelled. Goaltending is the only reason they’re not below us.

Yes even if goaltending is the reason they are where they are, it's still good for them... goaltender is part of the team right. So if their goalie is playing well and getting them wins, they are doing fine. If their goaltender keeps playing like he is, they will be hard to catch. I hope our goaltender becomes hot too

In fairness, they are 90% (of relevant players and/or output) on that roster

McDavid has been about as mediocre as he could be for the past month or so. They've been doing the best they can to hamstring him but sticking plugs on his wings.

He's still 2nd in the league in scoring with fewer games played than Draisaitl... yes he is not at his best, but even when he is not at best... he is so good

Well howdy H4H, sure has been mighty quiet in here.

Was a time when this thread was full of lively characters.

There used to be this one fella that would rile up all the other fan bases, he went by the name of Whipper........To this very day Vantel from the Canuck thread cries himself to sleep when he sees a Tasmanian devil.......but I heard Ol'Whip died of Syphilis on account spending so much time tormenting the posters on the leaf thread. He caught it from going in there. He did not have his anti-virus software up to date and well lets just say.....horrible way to go.

Bout the same time there were 2 Edmonton trolls that made it their mission to keep us honest, Jero and IggysBFF. Word is they got married (to each other) and moved to San Francisco to open up a shoe store for men who like shoes and other men........strange folk. But all them Edmonton fanfolk seem a little queer......must be that giant Mall.....or could be they are just like flies around poop and can't help themselves.

Anyways, that's enough stories for tonight.

Game day tomorrow....
