You can see the difference in individual skill between the two teams. Van had way more but NYi are a much better coached team. Puck retrieval. Set plays you can actually see. Imagine if Van had those things. They would look like the Lightning.

Fun game, pretty loose out there, strange that a coach like Trotz would allow his players to get sucked into playing like that.

He's worth roughly 3 mil now as he is a 3rd liner points/performance-wise. Consistent improvement year over year, 20, 25, 36+ points. To think he will spend his career as a 4th liner is asanine.

Isles no slouch but Canucks deeper at forward hit a lot of metal again tonight.

I'd say the Isles are a group that has been together longer and learned to execute their system. You have to remember most of this team is new to each other and it just takes time to gel to work the defensive side.
