I suggest you buy a bigger TV if you think this is Jakes second game as a fourth liner. I could have sworn he has played on Beagles line quite a bit this year and Loui played on Bo's line - VANTEL
2nd game in a row and a few at the beginning of the year. But mainly 3rd line and the rest was 1st & 2nd line spot duty.

He can move around though when needed. - Bettmanhatesus
JV's not displacing BB and TT on RW. Like you said he can fill in for them or move up for a change. But its a numbers game. He has value and will get a decent contract between 2-3M. |

In the first quarter (20 games) AND based on scoring logs I'm guessing 2-4 |

Van was sloppy again but they deserved to win. Shots were a bit misleading - CanuckDon
Misleading? Weren’t the shots 16 to 5 in the 3rd for NYI? The islanders dominated the 3rd and controlled the puck for most of overtime. Canucks were lucky again. |

If that kind of interference by the islanders is now legal
How many times did they just drift into Pettersson's lane when he didnt have the puck. - classic321
Playoff hockey for sure, except for the whole run and gun thing. Canucks need to learn to play through it instead of expect the calls. |

Or tackle him or or grab his stick or pitchfork him to ice in front of the net.
The fans should have been throwing pucks at the refs during the third period, not the shootout. It's going to take something that drastic to draw enough attention to the problem and stop the league's constant interference in the outcome of games.

Both teams were lucky IMO, a lot of posts for the Canucks. Thought Demko was the better goalie. |

Well we had 3 posts in the 3rd and the islanders had a lot of perimeter shots. For sure we got owned in OT |

Gaudette's penalty.
Then all the non-calls after the Islanders tie the game.
That's the manipulation they call 'Game Management'. Designed to make it more exciting for the lower bowl morons, and get it to overtime so everybody gets some points and stays bunched up in the playoff race. Artificial parity.
There is no loser point in playoffs so no, not playoff hockey. |

I think it's an accurate depiction of my feelings on Green. Unfortunately the quality is poop and it's hard to edit photos on a phone. |

Bettmanhatesus ?
My point being, the reffing is always terribly inconsistent, more so in the playoffs. If you can't play through the poop, you lose.

Currently the officials are juggling so many competing objectives it's surprising they're not worse.
I guarantee you the reffing would get a lot better if they simply called infractions according to the rule book, and on the basis of 'was an advantage gained?' Just like when they first introduced obstruction calls. There was an adjustment period, the players adapted, and then the game got faster and more entertaining.

Who other than Minvan had Zibanejad leading the NHL in goals per game this year? Kid just hit 40g in 56 games. Pretty incredible, that trade might be the worst in the past 10 years. |

I agree, reffing is a joke, but it won't change. The playoffs are worse, wins like tonight despite the obstruction, hooking, etc. makes the team more resilient for when we make the playoffs |

Would love to see the Canucks make the playoffs just to see how JV performs. His true value will manifest there and then it will put to rest all the speculation. |
