Who are you hoping for?
I am on the same hope to upgrade but I would like to see who becomes available . I would like more options than Gallant - VANTEL
Gallant seems like the high profile choice.
1st off Green needs to be let go, I think I would like management to conduct a process, identify competent people and interview several candidates, not just promote mediocre coaches like Green or Cull.

Making the right choices sure helps ( Holland and Tippet)
I would like to see some longevity and stability . Truthfully I like Green but I think he is an basic level coach. It is more than likely time for an upgrade . That said I just minutes ago seen Aquilini praising the team for last nights performance.
It doesn't seem like he is at the end of his rope with this team yet.

There is a spot for Motte. - LordHumungous
Motte is just coming into his prime. He gives you everything Beagle provides except faceoffs and SCF experience, although he does have more skill and will provide slightly more offense. Motte's next contract will likely be just over half of what Beagle's making.
Do wish he was a bit bigger though. |

If Canucks sign Toffoli, one of the Right wingers will be moved over the next season or so. - Reubenkincade
Virt plays both wings. His trajectory has been up, you guys just don’t like how long it’s taken. Fact is, he’s got room to grow and is just 23 coming into his own. We have no other player like him really, the comparisons on here have been a joke. |

I don't hate Green but it's clear he isn't the guy to get our current talent pool over the hump. Hard to say the rope Benning and Green will get from Aquilini if they mis the playoffs. |

I don't think the bolded part is true t all.
I personally like him and always wish him well. I put the team always first over any player.
I honestly believe he won't be a top 6 player on the Canucks that is all. For two years
now he have heard a lot of complaining about paying bottom 6 players 3 mil or more. Now it seems everyone is fine to add another bottom 6 three mil contract. |

Motte is your proto-typical entry level 4th line guy who brings the energy every night. Need those guys. I like beagle but his injury status has been disappointing. We'll never see him play a full season here which is too bad. A full year and he would bring his value IMO. Faceoff % is top 3 in the league. |

JV is on pace for 45-50 points with alot of that as 3rd line TOI. Some of the suggestions of his salary here are laughable. Just look around the league what do 50 point fringe top 6 guys get? Isn't that hard to figure out. |

Lets see how many points he gets in the next couple of weeks playing where I guess he would be playing next year.
Last night minus 2 with no points |

Letting Virtanen go would be stupid, he’s a valuable NHL tweener with 40 points and 20 goals, most likely, those are hard to come by. Not to mention he’s a possession driver, he can skate better than almost anyone on the team and he’s our best player some nights. - LeftCoaster
I'll take his money for TT and a first+ depending how high. |

Cull sucks, Green will come in 3rd in Jack Adams voting this year.
PS glad you're laughing but I'm always serious and usually right on here. Don's my kryptonite recently which is very difficult for me. |

Bad news, Good news with a Tanev injury.
He'll be missed no doubt but hopefully it forces Green to adjust the pairings. Myers/fanta is brutal.
I would run with
Edler Myers
Hughes Benn
Fanta Stetcher |

Myers Fanta are a terrible pairing and I am not quite sure who is to blame because they both play so much better apart.

I don't see any announcements that Tanev will miss any games. |

Why?
This certainly doesn't define Green work with the team.."adjudged to have contributed the most to his team's success."
Vingneault should win hands down (IMO), followed by
Bruce Cassidy
Jared Bednar
David Quinn
Dave Tippett
John Tortorella
Travis Green
This would be my choices, you can have Green higher but I think it would only be you and Don beating that drum

You need depth. He’s middle six, brings some good things to the table. If he’s actually created a problem in the room, like donny has claimed, then ya it’s an easy choice. But the price of players is going up, not down. It’s how capitalism works. |

Hi,
New blog is up. I was impressed to see the Canucks match the Islanders' physical game last night, even if they couldn't keep up on the shot clock.
Hopefully that doesn't leave 'em worn down for their road back-to-backs on Thursday and Friday...

Zack has stepped in and in his first 21 games as a Canuck has 5 goals and 2 assists . He also hits harder and more often and comes at the low low price of 1 mil per.
