OMG dude, please tell me you're not serious? This is by my count the 1st game all year that's happened (and will probably last 5 shifts) and you think Benning can use that as ammo against JVs agent come negotiating time?? C'mon man. - Brooks_Light
This is not the first time Jake has played 4 th line . |

How long did he last at first line? - VANTEL
He's played in the top 6 a fair bit this season.
How long do any of Green's lines stay together? |

I have already said three times in the last hour yes Canucks have bad contracts.
But replacing a fouth line 3 mil Jake is just swapping one bad contract for another - VANTEL
And you are correct and we all agree. But your JV argument now is based on 1 game that hasn't been played yet!!
In reality he's a middle 6 guy and has improved each season and that's how his agent will negotiate it. Vantel you know very well REGULAR/DAILY 4th liners don't score 18 goals.
Even Tampa - who have scored the most goals of any team in the league - 4th liner is Cedric Paquette - 7gs 18pts - $1.65mill |

Well Green is a great coach and if he has now deemed that Jake is a 4th liner he is right. And that makes Vantel right |

Yes Green does change his lines
In healthy year with Petey Bo Brock Jake Miller Pearson and Toffoli where does Jake fit ? I think the majority will say 7 th
So Jake now has to replace Zac or Roussel who Green has chosen.
On a healthy team Jake will probably spend a lot of time on Sutters line. Odd men out don't get 3 mil IMO |

So your argument is to unstack the top 6 to make room for Jake? - VANTEL
I'm not going to bite on that one.
If that's your extrapolation, that's on you. |

Jake has had a very good year but a healthy team with Lievo Motte back Jake will be fighting for minutes. Green in the past has had Lievo ahead of Jake and that fact Loui too.

So an unrealistic year?
Jake has been a staple on the 3rd line all year. He has moved up seamlessly and played/fit in on the 2nd, 1st line & PP2 when needed. He's not a 4th liner, on ANY team. If i'm his agent my argument is clear as day with tons of comparable contracts. 20 goals 40 pts, Plays 13mins a night, can jump through the lineup, majority of his Pts are EV, hits well above average, improved each year.
3mil is a fawking steal!!!
It's not the contract(s) we should be worried about. |

We can argue for days but as long as Zac gives good minutes and the line produces Jake will be in tough to get back on the third line. I think you will see a lot of Jake starting fourth line until the year ends. |

I don't - when Motte is back Zac will be on the 4th line or scratched as usual. This Jake 4th line is an anomaly and probably won't last into the 2nd period. It's the same thing with Loui being on the 1st line, whereas he should be in Kalamazoo. But for some reason Green has a hard on the size of Utah for the guy.

They should let Toffoli walk and put Virtanen in the top six, Mac plays third line.
Or sign Toffoli and have a third line of Virtanen Gaudette Mac.
Get rid of the deadweight in Sutter, Roussel, Eriksson, etc. |

It would be sort of dumb of Green in a playoff run to use Jake on the fourth line if he felt he was better than the others don't you think? |

Maybe if you would stop saying dumb things I wouldn't need to exaggerate .
Jake is '4th liner' when we have a stacked top 6.
No Toffoli next year would open up a spot on the top 6 for JV i suspect.
He wouldn't produce as much as TT, but would be cheaper and bring speed/strength.
That was your comment
Your solution was to not have the best top 6 .You want save 2 mil so Jake could play top 6 and have less production from your top 6 .
Sorry if I offend you but I find comments like this dumb.
Your turn to fire back , be my guest |

Green did come out and explain his reasoning the other day when they played the AVS. Most of it was white noise but he did say one thing that stuck.
He laughed at all the fans and media critique for changing his lines so much then said and when I do keep a line together for a long time like Bo Loui Pearson line I get ripped again.
I think as fans we are not privy to all inside info . There has to be something going on that we don't have info on . There has to be some thing we don't know as to why that line existed so long. |
