Or sign Toffoli and have a third line of Virtanen Gaudette Mac.

Get rid of the deadweight in Sutter, Roussel, Eriksson, etc.

- LeftCoaster

Yes please. Though, it doesn't seem like Gaud and Virt have much chemistry.

Sutter tradeable. Roussel tradeable. Eriksson demoteable. Leivo walks.

Motte, Beags, Ferland on the fourth line.

They should let Toffoli walk and put Virtanen in the top six, Mac plays third line.

Glad Boeser is back, don't mind him playing with Bo for now since the 1st line is still clicking and Bo could use an offensive boost. Really do see Boeser and Toffoli switching spots next year though.

I agree, he is better ‘right now’, but another long term contract would hurt because I don’t think Jake’s too far behind him production wise, playing much less meaningful minutes. Plus he’s a much better skater.

Signing TT and getting rid of the deadweight would be optimal but that’ll cost some assets and or bucks to get rid of those fukers.

How can you call them Fukers when they have brought years of enjoyment into your life

Podkolzen is a RW he will probably pass Jake on the depth charts too , just like Zack is doing right now.

The cap issues should be cleared up by then.

Purge all the useless, cap-sucking deadweight.

Subtract:
Benn $2MM (trade)
Beagle $3MM (trade)
Roussel $3MM (trade)
Sutter $4.375MM (trade)
Eriksson $6MM (murder)
Baertschi $3.37MM (murder)

Total = $21.75MM to spend on keeping better players

Markstrom +$2MM - $2.5MM
Toffoli + $1MM - $1.5MM
Tanev + $1.5MM
Jake + $1.5MM
Gaudette + $1MM
Motte + $1MM

Total = $8MM - $9MM

Maybe if you would stop saying dumb things I wouldn't need to exaggerate .

Jake is '4th liner' when we have a stacked top 6.

No Toffoli next year would open up a spot on the top 6 for JV i suspect.
He wouldn't produce as much as TT, but would be cheaper and bring speed/strength.

That was your comment

Your solution was to not have the best top 6 .You want save 2 mil so Jake could play top 6 and have less production from your top 6 .

Sorry if I offend you but I find comments like this dumb.

Your turn to fire back , be my guest

This is where you're wrong and assuming/exaggerating again.
My comment was for a given scenario when TT could not be signed next year and suggesting how JV could fill in.
There was no mention if this was 'my plan' or preference.

You have a tendency to assume what people mean and declare it as statement of fact.

All good though. You didn't offend me at all.
Maybe if you asked for clarification before making assumptions you wouldn't get so wound up.

Although i wouldn't be mad if Roussel stuck around.
I still think we need some vets.

That girl is like the Voltron of white girls. If you combine every spiced-pumpkin, Ugg boot, Michael Kors white girl around you'd get her

Why pay 1.5-2 million for a young 4th liner when you can pay 3 million for an aged 4th liner?

I liked Roussel last year as well, but with the higher skill level on the team this season and next, I don't think you're in as much need of a guy who gets the other team off their game. Better to invest that money in someone who's similar but more of a legitimate face-puncher than poop-disturber.

How long did he last at first line?

Jake is a career, 3rd liner max potential.

I think Jake has third line skills .

I think if it comes down to choosing between Jake at 2.5 -3 mil or Zack at 1 mil for third line duties then I think they would move Jake and try to get a pick back. I also think Green likes and trusts Lievo more than Jake.

We can keep our young players, no cap issues. Isn't signing expensive UFA's what got us in this mess to begin with?

Keep Zack for 1 mil, get rid of Jake, give the diff to Toffoli
