Mike Johnson made a good point...NBA reacted because one of their players tested positive, but that hasn’t happen in the NHL yet so maybe they proceed like normal but without fans. No fans is 100% guaranteed I’d think if they do keep playing

Another thing is you couldn’t pinpoint a certain date to resume day to day stuff so that’s going to be a factor for the govs

Now supposedly another NBA player on that same team has been infected from the original player, which is inevitable since it incubates for so long.

Doubt the NHL wants to have this happen to them

Play games for two weeks without fans and reevaluate the situation then. In the meantime if a player tests positive, then you suspend or cancel is the way I would go.
Because not much will change in a couple weeks, or even months.

But I’m just a lowly ole mailman from LI

Source indicates that Gary Bettman has been in touch with all the teams and they have been told the NHL season will be suspended. Call at 1pm to work our some details in a fluid situation.

We really aren't starting next season until after Thanksgiving are we? That's not a guarantee it will take that long, but isn't there something in the CBA that mandates minimum offseasons?

His agent must have serious pull to get the NHL to suspend the season until he's fully healthy!

Imagine if they do restart this season, how many teams will be impacted by guys coming back. We could be equally screwed if it allows Seth Jones to heal before the restart.

Eh. It wasn’t that bad. It was dumb and he should be benched, but he didn’t hit him all that hard. One game is fine, 2 isnt imo

Probably, but what's the alternative? Continue on as regularly scheduled and put every person in attendance at risk? Regardless of the severity of symptoms, it's still a pandemic.

It's a risk management situation. Better safe than sorry, imo.
