Anyways just read that an 82 year old died yesterday in NYC from the virus . Sucks for them although 82 is almost the perfect age to pass away. One death in the States yesterday from the virus is fantastic news I would think.

i think you're absolutely right.

i'd add that most of the people who can afford the medical care are in the west where (i believe) infection rates have decreased the last couple of decades.

in poorer countries, i think the rates have increased and they don't have the means to deal with the cost of on-going medical care.

so bottom line is that (without doing extensive research) i would guess that death rates have decreased for us in the west but have gone up elsewhere as infection rates have increased.
