I'm meant to fly to Australia tomorrow. My wife and kid left last Friday. I've been pretty stressed all day that my flights might get cancelled. But the worst thing so far has been that I'll need to isolate for 2 weeks when I get back, even though there is plenty of corona here and my likelihood of contracting it in Oz is pretty much par.
If there is going to be a pandemic, I need to be with my family. I'll worry about the rest of it after the fact. |

That sucks man.
Hope you're with your family asap.
So you have to quarantine when you return from any flight overseas, or what?
Does MExico or S.America count? |

Yes, travel outside Canada requires isolation. I’m in Hawaii, a place with 1/10th the number of reported cases as BC, a climate not conducive to the virus and I will need to stay away from work for two weeks. If I was coming back from Quebec, all good, straight back to work. |

The way the media presents it you'd think it was an alien invasion
The elderly, the already sick, the malnourished and those with weak immune systems are certainly at risk of more serious outcomes. Those that are generally in good health will be fine and recover - SMBDragon

The US sucks, plain and simple about all this. Just like the above post about Russia, can only confirm a case when you test and/or release the test results.
The US is failing on every level of testing to do with corona. From the BBC:
“But the US has carried out far fewer tests than other countries - 26 per million people between 3 January and 11 March compared with South Korea's 4,000. The UK has carried out 400 tests per million and Italy 1,000 as of 10 March. Health experts fear the virus may have spread undetected in US communities because few tests were carried out. ”
The US has a huge number more that we just don’t know about. But like you said, Hawaii might not be as bad due to climate and more isolation. |

Got up and having my coffee and the general news today is a lot more positive than it was 24 hours ago. Everyone keep chipping in and doing the right things to contain this problem . |

Many people dont even wash their hands after taking a dump, doubt they will wash hands because of a virus.
Some people are (frank)en disgusting. |

Wifey just returned yesterday from the hospital from pneumonia. 10 days of isolation & has a follow up & x-ray to be done. We have to wear masks & not share a bed. I get the couch & the tv to myself but working from 6:45pm til 5:15am means sweet piss all to watch 😂[url] |

Nice!
We are working on canned goods, dog food and stocking the bar tomorrow.
Fortunately, there is an ounce of mushrooms in the freezer (fantastic in blender drinks, 1/2 gram per drink, to start) and 10 hits of LSD in the special tin.
We're ready for lock down.
Thanks for the reminder to load up on Limeade. - Marwood
2 oz’s of weed but been a good boy so I can do Alberta shutdowns.

Here:
Yes, the flu has killed more people because it's been around longer and infects more people. If Corona infects as many people, you'll see a staggering amount more deaths. Add to that we have no vaccine for Corona, and it's rapidly spreading while we don't know much about it, you can see the sense of alarm. - NewYorkNuck
That’s the scary truth of it all |
