So everything I say is just echoed from clinicians, directors, leads for infection control, occupational health and safety, disease control, etc. This information is only pertaining to canada, and more specifically the province of BC obviously.
....

The covid-19 test kits are currently prioritized for nurses, doctors and elderly and if you're feeling symptomatic, it's best to self quarantine for 14 days rather than risk exposure to others seeking testing.

I'll probably add to this as I'm sure I've forgotten some things

Its year end, I'm sure that 9 million will get put to use in the next two weeks lol

If you look in the basement of any hospital in lower mainland there’s tons and tons of unused equipment purchased just to meet end of year commitments. Absolutely a stupid way to manage government spending. Use it or lose it.

These people, collectively, arent shy in saying this is scary. They have been through Ebola, been through sars, and this transmits so much faster, higher than those, it's hard to comprehend. The hardest part about this virus is that you can be Asymptomatic for 2-3 weeks, have the virus, be a carrier, and transmit to others unknowingly. That in itself is quite scary. The good thing about the transition is that it's not as transmittable as people are afraid of. Close proximity for extended periods of time through droplet are how you get it. Getting on a bus and not sitting directly next to that person, you are extremely unlikely to contract. Washing hands, sanitizing, and avoiding crowds are the only things you can do to prevent.

Now, for what stood out for the most. They started this part with "it's a marathon and not a sprint people, so remember that always". This wont be leaving canada soon, and by soon I mean we should expect to fight this for the next couple years even. The sobering statistic that was told today was, it isnt out of the realm of possibility that 30-75% of canadians contract a varying form of covid-19 over the next two years. That, is, scary.

Was there any discussion about people in large worksites or in a camp?
Edit; also if there was, were there any discussions about people in lineups at kitchen or transporting workers to jobsite?

I have said that a few times to friends about putting a limit but the panic buying is spreading.

No Purell, buy soap no soap , no soap buy dish soap,
No TP ,buy Kleenex , no Kleenex buy paper towels.

Owners of stores are selling off all stock. Batteries ,water of all kinds , meats , noodles , canned food . Owners are making a killing.

Yes, applause to all. I’m impressed with how this group has provided good information after the original suspicions. Nobody likes to think or admit how vulnerable we really are.

Ps - I finally saw your PM. Will respond shortly.

I used to volunteer at a non-profit that would renovate every year as a way to max out their operating budget and as a way to show "your donation dollars at work," to raise more money.

Staff never saw raises because donors don't see that.

My dad used to own a couple of Burger Kings. He raged about that expense item. That and ketchup packages.

People are always scared of what they dont understand, or they downplay it out of fear. Today was a huge eye opener for me, as everything before today was more so product knowledge (N95's) and its effect on the supply chain. Projecting 30-75% of canadians could contract the virus over the next 2 years was tough to digest.

Also, the people who hoarded TP long before the 14 day isolation period was even introduced are still stupid and I stand by that lol

I see a ton of health units use basements for outbreak case holding (yellow and white Iso gowns, gloves, masks, etc). I've seen old parts of hospitals used as old equipment storage though. Beds, lifts, chairs, etc.

And its insanely frustrating. My entire job in procurement is to save the department money, and they do everything in their power to spend to their budget or risk losing. It defeats the purpose of trying all year lol

The first hour was essentially just talking about island health workers and how their sick/vacation bank would be used prior and after adrian dixon's announcement yesterday about the 14 day quarantine. I dont recall much about the things you said above, or not that I could remember, it was mainly healthcare worker related minus some of the stats

Ok. Thx.
Still good information. We had a contractor nurse, hired by the company, at our safety meeting today, downplaying the situation.
I understand that they dont want people panicking,.
We have 1500 people in a work camp, none of them want to end up being quarantined in a tiny camp room, if/when the virus hits the Northern Health Region.

With the tests being prioritized, I'd imagine they would be quarantined immediately with the first sign of a cough/fever. The problem is that we are relying on the public to police themselves in this self quarantine.

With the coronavirus and everything else going on in the NHL, the Jack Rathbone decision to sign with the #Canucks will take time a source at Harvard tells me.

Hello you all wonderful people, since there are no sports... I thought you guys may want to know about this. I use to watch Flames games on it but now there are tons of new movies streaming on this app too. So if anyone is looking to watch movies with friends, you can go on an app called Explorii. I'm sure everyone is bored so thought i let you guys know that. we can all watch movies and tv shows and chat at the same time... pretty cool. I came across it so thought i let you guys know if anyone is interested.

As for hockey i was hoping for Flames Oilers or Flames Nucks playoff round but doesn't look like it is happening

He did. That was why he stayed an extra year at the prep school before going to Harvard. He might stick around for another shot at a championship. Harvard if a lot return could have a pretty good team.

In Burnaby at Parkland refinery shutdown the past 6 weeks. Many blown shifts & maybe a 1/4 of those from the usual partying. Everyone is bussed from the 3 parking lots. Up to 100 ppl in each lunch room. Not great tbh & so far no one has the virus that is known of so far.

How many fu(king rolls of TP do you need for 14 days AND, if you aren’t symptomatic or have recently returned/returning from abroad then you likely aren’t even self isolating. People are so stupid.

Also, thanks for the insight, much appreciated.
