Love having tough guys on D. Would be nice to have a guy as tough as Wilson as a forward. Outside of Lemieux we don't have that agitator.
- Fenrir

But do we want an agitator or just guys who play really tough and throw their body around? To me, seeing how ineffective Lemieux has been as an agitator, I would rather have tough guys than agitators. The key to the agitator role is skill. The player needs to be skilled first, agitator second.

I'd kill for Marchand to be on NYR roster
- rrentz

not affordable - Gallagher is.

We could offer Strome or Lemieux , and our first ( or Nils) and throw in Lias. I think he would solve a lot of holes for us

am I being Ranger fan unrealistic?

I could see them definitely trading away some picks and prospects for a very good forward, I’d prefer a center tho and I don’t think Gallagher really plays center. Danualt or Domi I’d like over Strome

I don't see the Habs moving their best French-Canadian center and I know they aren't moving Domi.
Strome has 12 points more than Danault in one game fewer and makes about the same money.
I'd rather keep what we know.

55% on faceoffs for Danualt, Strome is 47.5...no brainer trade off sorry tones lol. I don’t expect Habs to trade him but the Habs were brought up as trade partners. Faceoffs need to be addressed in the off season, I think that’s priority number one actually

I’ll beat the Jenner drum til they get him

I’m in my upper 60’s and I relative good shape. I’m more worried about getting it and passing it on to others in my family. My mother- in-law has heart and respiratory issues. My sister - in law has ocpd from previously smoking. My mother is 96 so obviously not the strongest person going. So why people don’t think it that’s big of a deal I say you may be underestimating what is going on
- way out west

If you read my entire post, I said, the elderly and people with pre exsisting health conditions are at most risk. I too, have the same heart and lung issues as your family members. I’m not underestimating anything.

I think you guys are prematurely beating up on Strome. He is having a great year. He made a few bone head plays but all players do. He is still getting chances, he hit the post, what 3 times last game alone. He is a good second line center for now.

I think the discussion is whether his value on the trade market is higher than his value on our team when you consider cap, RFA status, and players in our system

I do agree that had this happened early in the season and then had a bunch of games with almost a ppg production, no one woulda said a word. Just bad timing really from him.

He’s due for a raise tho. If you put Sergei Nemchivov as Panarins center, he could get 50 pts. I think that’s the point, Strome is a dime a dozen kind of player where you could get a cheaper guy and produce about the same

Strome is having his best year for a reason, and it’s Panarin. AND, I’ll beat the dead horse, he can’t win a big faceoff

Faceoffs are a thing people, and we don’t have good results with them. When the rangers have the puck they’re dominating at times, just imagine if they won more faceoffs and had the puck even more

Understood but we really dont have anyone ready in the system, Howden is at most a 4th liner and Chyil hasnt shown much improvement this year. There isnt anyone in Hartford to step up.

We are now in relatively uncharted waters. When New York missed the playoffs the last few seasons, we knew when the season was to begin again. Now, everything is off the table as we deal with a way more important matter. As a result, we have a somewhat blank slate on which to talk, for better or worse.

I throw it out to you, what would you like to discuss? Happy to gather all the questions and cover as many of those that make sense and within reason (no need for me to be specific) until we get some real news on the path forward in the world and specifically the NHL.

Let me know and I will roll this into a blog to start the conversation there as well

Howden is improving. He’s young, he needs time too. I see him becoming reliable as the 3C, I see a lot of Stepan in him...and he looks just like Casey Affleck

Buch is the spitting image of Ethan Hawke too btw

I disagree. Its is a coincidence that both he and Panarin are having career years? They have developed some nice chemistry. Dont forget Panarin played with Atkinson, who is a tremendous player himself, yes although not a center but a player he played with for a few years, and didnt put up the same numbers. Id rather not screw with chemistry, as long as his contract is 5 mil or less for 3-4 yrs

It's only going to get worse. All of those guys have years left on those deals and little hope of improving their performance. That Benn contract is going to kill them and if Pavelski and Radulov do not rebound (which it's unlikely that they will) this team has no real chance to contend with 3 guys taking up nearly 23M and producing like a 3rd line

You are right, I should have said at best a forth line center as of now.

Roll your eyes all you want. So you see him as a 2nd line center? Really?? What has he done to have this impression of him? Ok so he is still young and can still improve but his play is underwhelming.

I think that’s who they’ll lose to Seattle

I just looked quick and did a expansion thing..one of Howden, Lias, Leimeux, Fast or Hajek is probably who’ll they’ll lose. Strome isn’t protected either
