I believe that, for business purposes, the "new" NHL season starts July 1st. Contracts expire June 30th.
- eichiefs9

I just didn't know if it specifically said the date or if it said something to the effect of it expires on the last day of the 2019-2020 league year. If contracts expire on specific dates then that really limits how long the league has to extend this season.

We can hope this will be over soon but recent examples indicate we're in for an extended "social distancing" period. I'd also wager that because our country is much larger that it will take more time to work its way through.

chara - karlsson
redden - Chabot

hasek (Ottawa hasek, not hasek in his buffalo prime)

that's a pretty damn good team.

are you kidding........there was a 2-3 year stretch where phillips and volchenkov were arguably the best shutdown pair in the league. volchenkov, is his prime, was a BEAST.....unfortunately injuries derailed him, and he was pretty awful in NJ

I think Yashin is your number 1. Mike Fisher needs to be on that roster

damn, forgot fisher.....i'd put him in over turris, or move him onto right wing over bonk

in his prime, yashin was probably equal to spezza.....but it's hard to get over what a colossal ass hat he was....probably the same reason I have heatley on the 2nd line.

Hey EK...as a Season Ticket Holder since Day 1 of the San Jose Sharks (and a prior HBSL winner) I'm nominating the following team for the Sharks:

Marleau-Thornton-Owen Nolan
Pavelski-Damphousse-Selanne
Makarov-Larionov-Garpenlov
Roenick-Ricci-Couture

extra winger: Bernie Nicholls All lines have 2 Centers in case one gets tossed from the faceoff circle.

Blake-Boyle
E Karlsson-Vlasic
D. Wilson-Burns

4th D Pairing is Ozolinsh-Ehrhoff I tried to have a more responsible D Man paired with a definitely Offensive minded one

Ed Belfour
Mike Vernon
Mikka Kiprusoff
Evgeny Nabakov

Go Sharks!

Going by career success is how I ranked them...

Tommy Albelin was a great team guy but he wasn't an outstanding defenseman.

Bruce Driver, Slave Fetisov, Sheldon Souray, Colin White, Lyle Odeline are all guys I'd take over him off the top of my head.

I'd also argue Brendan Shanahan and Peter Stasny might belong somewhere in the forward group. Jagr, Gilmour I'd leave out because they were only here briefly.

Resch>Burke but big bird had that great playoff run in '87-'88.

I don’t hate the list, but man, how could you break up the A line? You even have Arnott on there, but don’t stick him with the Czechs.

Why not Hasek over Emery?

Put Chris Neil on the 4th line instead of Kelly. Need some more toughness.

Also, Chabot over Methot or Volchenkov.
