Hall might sign a $9 mil 7 year contract with a team he wants to play for. Any shorter term will rise his asking price to $10+ mil per. The question is who does he want to play for? |

Recchi was in the Penguins list but not this one? Interesting. he played over 600 games for the Flyers. |

I always thought Tom Bladon was a forgotten Flyer. McCrimmon was a beast too. |

Hall is worth $8 m per for like 7 years. Anything more than that is an overpayment. |

Disagree, when you get a chance to sign an elite player for free you jump at it. Taylor Hall has always played well against the Flames. Plus he used to have Flames pjs!
If signing Hall allows you to trade Johnny for assets then you look at that option.

I can’t see this kid turn away $16 million just yet, even if it is for a contender. Maybe if the contender offered 9 per. Even if you’ve made that much coin, $16m is a ton of dough to leave on the table.
But then again, maybe that’s just my logic. - Hesh_
Unless his rights are traded his max term as FA is 7 years so 56-70. Like I said it all depends on what hall wants to do. He wouldn’t be the first player to choose money over winning. I just think given his career up to this point winning may play a larger factor than usual. Like I said in the original post 8 million would be a discount to play for a competitive team, he’s probably worth somewhere around 9 million, but will get offers for 10+ from bad teams with the cap room. For example I think if he got an offer for 8m to play for the avs who will have cap space vs 10+m to play for the red wings it’s more likely he signs with the avs |

So, my question is this: what has Hall to offer anyone? Great player, but so far, no one has benefitted from having h8m on their team. Yes, MVP, 8n a year where he was pissed about being traded, and had something to prove. Since that season, he has been a bit above mediocre. I will bet, that whoever signs him, will not benefit from his services enough, to justify the price tag. Add to that, the fact that this is a player model, who is NOT a team guy. It’s money, money, money. And yeah, I get it: it’s a business. But you long for players who stay with a team to MAKE the team BETTER. Not fatten their wallet.... |

I could see Hall in Buffalo as that added piece Reichel needs and I think the Sabres would gladly meet his demands! |

That's just it, Hall is good but far from elite now let alone in 7 years! |

Tavares reportedly turned down $13x8 to sign for $11x7. $27m is a ton of dough but so is $77m..... |

Hall is Phil Kessel 2.0, he’s just below elite but better than good and can be a good addition to your core but you’re unlikely to succeed if he is the Centerpiece of it. A good player to have to go with 1 or 2 that are better than him. |

Saying Hall is the most valuable prize by far... Alex Pietrangelo plays a far more valuable position, and has won both in the playoffs and the Olympics.
If you could sign one of Taylor Hall or Alex Pietrangelo to a 9mx7y contract, how many teams actually choose Hall? |

Robert Reichel is still playing? He's 48 years old. Is he demanding the Sabres turn him into Benjamin Button? Garf says GMJB always gets his old man.

That said, Hall strikes me as a guy who'd sign with the worst team in the league if they offered an extra half million a year, and then talk about "wanting to win" at the press conference. - DartgProbert
Wanting to win the draft lottery. He knows what he's good at. |

Maybe the Avs, especially with Landeskog 1 being 1 year away from being a UFA. Great insurance for Sakic and the average salaries always go up in this crazy league. |
