A hoax is a falsehood deliberately fabricated to masquerade as the truth. It is distinguishable from errors in observation or judgment, rumors, urban legends, pseudosciences, and April Fools' Day events that are passed along in good faith by believers or as jokes.

A direct quote from Wikipedia. That's exactly what he said. He said they were inflaming the situation far beyond what the facts would warrant. That's the definition of hoax.

Nothing about his tweet was incorrect. There is minimal risk for most people. The problem is those people will spread it to vulnerable people, hence the need to slow it down. Dems have made this political criticizing actions and he’s responding (the tweet) to that.

He's been downplaying it the whole time, I get it, it's his job, but it's not his job to say it's a democrat hoax. I'm not even a goddamn democrat. He's saying they're trying to inflame the situation, yet the WH just came out and said no gatherings of 10 or more.

While it's true that Trump never called the virus itself a hoax, on February 28, 2020, he literally said that Democrats' criticism of the administration's response to Covid-19 is "their new hoax." To be clear, I put quotation marks around those last three words because they are Trump's actual words.

The only way this could have been worse is if it happened late summer/fall. People more interested in keeping their job or getting it over saying what's right. Imagine if the debates were right now, and the vote was in 6 weeks. Good God.

It's 100% true. I got kicked out of ICU to the regular ward a day or two early because they needed the bed, and I needed it the least out of anyone there even with 2 chest tubes and a foley catheter. ICUs are stupid expensive to operate, they don't just have a lot of spare capacity.

Yeah, Good idea. Tell the mass public that corona is going to kill us all and create mass hysteria and panic.

People still went to the grocery store but it wasn’t an all out panic and it wasn’t like Black Friday shopping with fights and other stuff like that.
