The team has improved at quite a few positions. It all boils down to Allen taking the next step.
- thatsapickle

Exactly right. He needs to defeat Belichick. That's what it comes down for to me.

Allen vs. Belichick. This is all that should matter to any Bills fan.

This thing better pick up soon. And you don't have to be a "Trumptard" or "Foxhead" to be pissed off about what is going on. If there aren't significant deaths happening then this country needs to get back to work. No doubt that this virus has been in the US since the beginning of the year, I honestly think I had it about a month and a half ago, and literally "self quarantined" myself because that's what we do when we are sick. You'll see how quick the narrative and panic shifts from this health scare to recession/depression soon and you won't ever hear about Covid again, you'll hear about Trumps Recession.

The issue with aggressive preventative measures is that when they work, we will get big brains complaining that it was no big deal

To me it's Allen 2020 v. Allen 2019.

Can he improve his accuracy on the deep ball?
Can he make smarter decisions when running, and protect the ball?
Will he keep improving like he has year over year?

That's what matters to me.

Allen - Singletary

He has protection and weapons.

You know I had what I thought was the flu in late January. Funny thing is I get the flu shot every year. Had a 101 fever with diarrhea for 4 days. Took days after that to return to normal.... hmmmmm

Interesting read, thanks for sharing.
The App is pretty wild.
I wonder if implemented in the US if there will be an Orange marker for Trumpers.
Pink should go to Trump haters...kinda wussys needing to vent and play the blame game

The problem with this is we're already getting close to a point where the economic shutdown is going to hurt more people long-term in this country than the virus itself, even in an Italy doomsday scenario.

Exactly. With that said, he needs to overcome Belichick. Allen essentially needs to become the new Tom Brady of the AFC East.

I doubt we're close to that. But its definitely a possibility in the long run.

Basically, look for the truthers to be disappointed when a million people don't die because they can't see past their nose.

Spot on.
If everyone does their part and the country can navigate through the peak without extending it unnecessarily then the reactions will start that this was overblown and not needed.
That will be a sign of success.
Let's hope for it.

This is a good post.
I'd add in that Dabol needs to take the next step as well. Take a page from the Pat's and have a focus on a productive 3rd quarter rather than languishing in ineptitude.

So two points. No doubt I do think this is a killer for the elderly and underlying condition folks, pulmonary issues are extremely serious so I'll get that out before folks say I'm not taking it serious. So if this thing is contained and we get lets call it 25MM cases with 5,000 deaths, will people give credit to this administration for the way they handled it? Absolutely not because it will be the Trump recession dominating the news, you can see this coming from a mile away. Secondly, this cannot happen again in our country so what measures can this country take to make sure of that? Sorry to break it to people but it is literally Trumps agenda items that would help with that, Decouple from China, stronger border security, bring manufacturing back to US, giving small businesses the economic conditions to make them thrive. Let America be America and that's literally what was happening before all this went down.

- buffalofan19

Well both right now. Forecasts are that we are going to get to Italy soon because we were too slow to react.

We're basically trying to shift the pain from hundreds of thousands of unnecessary deaths to people not being able to afford rent.

And the 2nd part is where you'd think the entire point of a government comes in. Find a way to fund bailing out american citizens when they desperately need it.

How 90% of the actions by these states are constitutional is beyond me. I guess that is what's frustrating me the most...people are throwing away their rights for the warm government safety blanket.

People need to remember that the constitution, and the protections it guarantees, is the law of the land during both peace and war, in good times and in bad. That was true when Lincoln suspended habeous corpus. It was true when FDR seized property during the great depression. It was true when college kids burned their draft cards during Vietnam. And it remains true today.

I hear "better to overreact than underreact" alot. However, the danger with the government overreacting, even if they do so with good intentions, is that it makes people believe that some, but not all, of the restrictions on peoples freedoms are something that people could live with. "Its not that bad letting the government restrict freedom X when they could be restricting freedom Y. Remember how bad not having freedom Y was?!"

Sure the government will eventually ease up restrictions, but every time something like this happens they chip away at our rights just a little bit more in the name of "prevention" going forward (see the patriot act). That is true even if the governing bodies truly harbor no malice or ill-will in retaining post-crisis preventative measures.

More than likely we won't lose our freedom in this country because of a power-hungry leader who switches to an authoritarian state overnight. Rather, it will occur over years, decades, as it is slowly eroded in the name of preventing future tragedies.

I get that the uncertainty of this whole situation worries people to no end. But we cannot allow our fear of the unknown to degrade the very bedrock of what it means to be American and free.

Okay so we should just abandon all efforts to contain the virus because CNN is going to blame Trump for the recession.

Got it.

No, I think he's saying that when we look back at this even as little as a year from now, people are going remember the economic toll far more than they will the death toll, because the effects are going to be longer lasting.

All of this is true, but whats the answer? Its pretty obvious without government mandates, people weren't going to change the way they lived their lives.

Which circles back to my original point. We can't prove prevented deaths. Its literally not possible. So people aren't going to be talking about how the government stepped in and prevented mass deaths because you can't see that it happened.

Let's not go all patriot militia when general common sense says stay safe, stay aware and stay distant to kill off a clear pandemic until a medication/vaccine is released.

i mean how sad is it that some of the very first responses to this was bailing out cruise lines and airlines instead of ya know, bailing out the people you work for

Not sure I said to abandon efforts anywhere. Everyone right now is doing their part to contain this. I'm taking it serious but I'm pissed off that this could happen to our country. Unfortunately most of our country's population focuses more on panic rather than the will to get through adversity.

Because we're still a year from that at least. There's a better chance the virus runs its course and cases peak before the vaccine comes out. The point of the vaccine would be to prevent a 2nd wave a year from now.
