The trade is solid, but he is in no way one of the top 5 wrs in the game. Not close. poop, there was a good argument he wasn’t the best WR on the Vikings.

Look at it this way.

They gave up
1st rd pick
4th rd pick
Russel Bodine
Wyatt Teller

Don't get me wrong. I like that Diggs is now a Buffalo Bill, and I am not bashing the trade. They still paid for a lot for him.

Also, it becomes a put up or shut up year for Allen, kind of like when Whaley moved up to draft Watkins for EJ Manuel.

New England gets hit with a $13.5 Million cap hit because of teh way teh contract was structured.

'If he were to sign with the Patriots or another team after March 18, there would be $13.5 in dead money for the Patriots in 2020. That means if Brady signs a deal with a $20 million cap hit with the Patriots after March 18, his cap hit would really be $33.5 million."

Based on what?

Here's the take I like quite a bit;
The combined value of all the picks exchanged is equal to the 20th selection in the 2020 draft.
So in essence, value wise the Bill's moved up to 20th to pick Diggs.
He has a team-friendly contract for 4 more seasons and is a proven #1 receiver who can help Allen immediately.

Good move for the Bills.

In terms of quantity, sure. But NFL draft picks are so overrated.

4th rd picks + have a career of less than 3 years.

Sure you may find a good player in the 5th, but chances of doing so are very low.

You gave up a first which is nice, But even then Its less than a 25% rate of all-pro Articel is a bit old, but it still stands. The bust rate in the NFL draft is very high.

4-6 rd picks are flyers that you hope can be depth, actually make a roster spot.

Who's complaining? Twitter?

You know who's not complaining? The Cards. Because they gave up nothing. Bill O'Brien is (frank)ing drunk at the wheel driving the Speed bus.

What's great about a generally even trade (I give the nod to the Vikes) is that you'll have haters from both sides.

Remember all the good riddance posts from the God trade?

I for one, love it.

-Stefon Diggs makes 8M less than Amari Cooper.
-He is 26 years old.
-He is clearly one of the top 5 receivers in the game.
-You gave up a late first ((draft pick, at best (AT BEST) turns into Diggs)), Russel Bodine and Wyatt Teller, and a 4th, for an ELITE receiver.
-Brandon Beane continues to hang dong like a boss.

- TheSabresTaco

Thanks and all that with the Beane comparison, but watch beane hit on the 7th rounder coming back in the trade. #mcbeane

To add:
Thomas, Hopkins, Evans, Allen, Cooper, A Brown (Tenn), A Brown (if he stops being crazy), OBJ, Landry, Moore, Robinson, Jones, Kupp, Adams. Most on this list are 100% better, while others you could make an argument.

Reinhart jersey check
Kupp jersey check

Seriously, kupp over Diggs is far from %100.
Closer to %100 going the other way

Could very well. So far he's 0/1. Sweeney and D Johnson is incomplete.

Massive sample size btw.

But between McD and Beane, they have a steady track record into day 3.

Without taking injuries or offensive coaching into account.

I love the trade. Maybe just a tad shorter than I was expecting. Brown, Beasley, Singletary under 6 feet.

Knox is gonna break thru this season.
Wonder if the Bill's are thinking about Witten as a mentor?

he's top 15 and half the price as cooper
- homiedclown

Never said he wasn't (in fact said exactly the same thing, mid wr 1, so 11-20). Was disputing a top 5 wr, which he is 100% not. And yes, I understand his value for a contract might be better. But Cooper is the superior player. And it's not a question.
